  1. No Chassis update, lazy upgrade on a 4th year product that has issues that needed a redesign to fix. I think this bolsters the idea that they are moving to ARM in 2020, and will launch a brand new MBP powered by it to replace this bad design.
  2. How is it throwing away security? No one would be forcing you to install apps from outside the app store. Your security on iOS would be exactly the same, unless you made the decision to go install something from a 3rd party source. You can have the option, and not use it.
  3. How about all the developers who offer off the app store payment at less than on the app store? Or had to create a way to get people to pay off the App store to lower costs? https://mobilesyrup.com/2018/06/19/youtube-music-3-expensive-on-ios/ We have seen this time and again. YouTube, Spotify, Netflix... major apps moving payment off platform, or setting iOS only pricing.
  4. I love how insanely biased the original post is. ? Apple is forcing Devs to pay 30%, FACT. Apple blocks any serious attempt to provide an alternative to the App Store, FACT. Customers pricing is inflated due to Apple's monopoly control, FACT. Apple's monopoly status is going to be ended on iOS. The writing is on the wall, consumer class action will go forward, while at the same time Spotify will be launching an all out assault. The days of setting up a closed platform then launching competing products against the developers on the platform, knowing your 30% cut will make them uncompetitive, will be over. All thanks to this man siding with the 4 liberal justices!
  5. I'd fire them all. Right now, to the last one. Concerns were heard, an independent panel was setup to hear claims and judge senior leadership, and they willingly signed the arbitration agreements. This is not a just action, this is an attempt by far left political activists to gain power in the company. To force it to adopt a progressive culture. The progressive culture prevents free thought and expression, will censor their product, will hurt their revenue and corrupt their product. It will destroy them as it has destroyed Bioware. Employees will live in a politically correct nightmare akin to Stalinist Russia. Constantly having to maintain political correctness for fear of being purged. If Riot wants to thrive, they must fire every last one of these progressive activists.
  6. I don't know if I will buy it if it doesn't have a 5 ghz+ boost clock. Truthfully I don't need the upgrade, and it may even be hard to notice for me. So if it doesn't scratch that awesome itch, and let me see 5000 mhz under load, going to be a hard sell.
  7. I don't know I feel like a lot of design decisions DICE has made has contributed to this. The total lack of in game options to deal with cheating, even the difficulty of just reporting cheaters, having to actually use Origin to do it. That is DICE's design. Though I will give them credit for announcing they will be adding private servers to BFV, which will enable moderation to fix the cheating problem as it did in BF4.
  8. A month ago I sent DICE a screenshot in game of me standing by a spawn beacon with the player's name on the beacon, on a map where he couldn't have gotten that item, in a location which you cannot get to without cheating, yet a month later the guy is still not banned. Here it is below... clearly see the guy's name on the beacon, clearly see that its on the roof of the Fort that you cannot get to... one month later this guy is still not banned. EA/DICE has failed to act with proof for over a month. So my question is why? Why is DICE no longer banning cheaters in BF1? I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist, but I keep running into the same people cheating, and even when I can prove they are cheating, they are not getting banned. DICE removed all options in game to deal with cheaters, took it upon themselves, and now after the new game is out, is letting them run wild. Is this their version of "iPhone battery goes to crap right after new model comes out"?
  9. Navi cannot be that great because it would be a dick slap to the face of every Radeon VII purchaser right? Sub VII performance, but maybe far higher perf/dollar has to be result IMO.
  10. It was a perfectly good 980Ti killer, just a couple years too late ?
  11. 3700x is interesting. I wonder if its just a out of the box power draw preference that keeps the full 16 cores stock clocks 300 mhz lower. And that end user OC's will rival the 3700x. ? Its nice that CPUs are interesting again.
  12. The argument seems to be that Tesla should have prevented the driver error, as the driver made the error in trusting Tesla's system, a system that Tesla specifically tells drivers not to trust as the driver here did, and has measures in place to attempt to get them to take this seriously. Based on the data we have, I cannot accept that argument. It is the driver that was negligent in causing the crash, not Tesla. He was being inattentive, he had full visibility, every chance to correct the car. He failed to do so. But that crash, while being the drivers fault, would not have been fatal if not for the negligence of the CA DOT. They know for a fact that area is prone to crashes and needed the guard, after having the last one crashed into, and their negligence in failing to replace it was a chief factor in the drivers death. He would be alive today if they had simply done their job. I'd award the family $0 from Tesla, and $5M from CA.
  13. They are not slaves. They have skills that can get them work in less demanding industries. Programmers are in high demand. Artists could move over to VFX work. Sound, QA... these skills are not game production only. So I don't really have much sympathy for them on this. Either they love it and it makes it worth it, or they would be quitting to go work elsewhere. That said they should all up and quit. As long as people are willing to do it, things will not change. So stop being willing, or stop whining about it.
  14. Personally I feel soundstage is the most important for gaming, as that separation enables the positional audio to really shine.
  15. Above the RAM, blowing through the heat sink towards the rear, where hopefully you have an exhaust fan.
  16. This season is such a joke so far. Its all fan service. So my money is on some "lets please as many people as possible" outcome. So I am going with it's going to be Jon's daughter. Dany will die in Child birth, Jon will become Hand and Protector of the Realm. And I bet they even add in some flash forward where she is betrothed to Arya's Son. Uniting the Dragon, the Stag, and the Direwolf.
  17. Spotify offering Hulu at no added cost sealed the deal for me on it. Its ad supported Hulu, but still.
  18. My favorite headphone for gaming right now is AKG K7XX with Dekoni Fenestrated Sheepskin pads. It's very open and the sound stage seems much wider than my Sennheiser 6XX headphones which I prefer for music. Positional audio seems to work better. I play a lot of Battlefield, and Dice's headphone surround mix works beautifully on them. Dekoni pads seem to help a bit, also super comfy. Also rather unexpensive at $200, and $80 for the pads.
  19. This is so stupid! Where are the people with money to buy things they see in ads, yet are watching ads for money? Is this an indictment of the welfare state, ads trying to get that government check? How effective can it be to advertise to people so broke they are watching ads to make pennies? ?
  20. Its haggling, you start with a really bad offer, and then you try and meet in the middle. The goal is to find the optimum amount of shit gamers are willing to swallow.
  21. I like that LTT doesn't bow to political correctness. The game continues.
  22. I think a lot of people just don't care, and in fact probably benefited from it, even if they did not understand what was going on. Think of some old person just joining, and getting all their contacts from years of e-mails in the system, ready for them to add. Do they want to have to get a privacy pop up, be warned about potential leakage, or do they just want it to work and be easy?
  23. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostbusters_(2016_film) Sony is now confirming to a moral system that falls exactly in line with progressive ideology. What nudity is good, what sexuality is good, what is bad, entirely lines up with progressives. Sony has put out products before that appeal that ideology, and even when they completely failed, they pushed it again. They aren't the only ones. EA, Activision, Disney... The big deal here is that some of us thought Sony being Japanese would be insulated against this American political movement, but alas we were wrong. It took over the American branch and now dictates worldwide content policy.
  24. We will just have to accept that our entertainment is going to be censored to protect the feelings of virtue signaling woke progressives. A small minority of the population that has undue influence because of their wealth and large presence in the tech sector gets to ban you from having content that they feel is indecent. Sony has now fallen under their control as so many other tech and media companies. There is no push back, because unlike in the 90s with the religious right, they already infiltrated the organizations from within, and silenced dissenting voices.
