Not too sure where to post this so here is goes. I was cleaning up my computer getting of old files when I opened a old program to check what it was that's when my computer blue screened on me but I'm not even mad after seeing the screen 😂 I vote that Microsoft makes this the new blue screen.

This was pre-carabiner issue this was when asked Linus initially ridiculing the idea of a written warranty during the pre-sales of the LTT Backpack saying that it didn't matter.

With Linus saying that people should just trust me bro.

It's part of a longer term thing that Linus has done a few times of saying what I have interpreted as legal contracts and agreements don't really matter and what matters instead is the honour/keeping your word.

Steve does say "Linus has personally invested $200k in Framework". But I don't think it really matters whether its LTT/LMG or Linus's own cash. Linus and Yvonne are the sole/majority shareholders for LMG (IDK if Luke/Nick/other C Suite has any). As such, utilizing LTT to promote a brand that he has a personal investment in, or any negative coverage of their competitor can be seen as a conflict since he personally stands to gain when Framework gets good press.

This is the worst thing in the video. If that truly is the case there is no excuse for that.

Just for clarity and clarification, it is Linus's personal money invested in framework, not LTT or LMG.

Many of the points made by GN are very valid I love LTT and there videos and I know the release a bunch of very good content, but there team is Huge now and given the concept of the lab I think its time they spend a little more time on accuracy, and making sure content is correct before posting, I just hope everyone can remain mature and take on bored the points of GN, and see it as GN trying to help LTT rather than just throwing shade and causing drama

The part where it is alleged LTT auctioned off a prototype water block they promised to return is troubling. That requires an official response.

*edit* I actually got to watch the video when I got home, and its pretty rough. I've seen a few inaccuracies in LTT videos the last few months that were small, some GN didn't even show, obvious QA issues, but the kind of errors GN shows go beyond basic QA.

Everyone knows GN's the goat when it comes to actual data, LTT's forte into data is really secondary to the entertainment priority the channel has always had.

    GN's accusations are valid here.

    *another edit*
The response was well done in my opinion. corporate, but that's probably for the better. We'll see what the results are in their next videos, which'll be a solid week away for good reason.

For the large majority, GN is correct. The thing that sticks out to me has been the extremely large increase in * corrections. * this and * that. They need to let their foot off the gas a little. They're moving too fast and breaking things too quickly, catch my drift?

However, in my personal opinion, part of the video, in regard to sponsorship, seemed a bit more personally driven, rather than fact-based. But besides that, LTT needs to ensure accurate data. I will 100% back that.

Hopefully, Linus and LTT will take a moment to reflect before rushing to any statements or any off-handed remarks on the WAN show on Friday.

Forums, Discord and Floatplane are already linked. Store isn't, and thats probably because Shopify doesn't have proper API for it. Plus store accounts are the newest of the bunch, not been there for that long.

Our policy on adding subforums has been that there needs to be enough content around other subforums to justify adding subforum. Just adding subforum doesn't bring content to it, there needs to be content first. Last couple subforum suggestions have included:
Cybersecurity Enterprise gear Steamdeck VR Overclocking Apple Off Topic subforums Fan fiction Machine Learning, AI etc. Retro/Vintage Just to name a few. Of those, some have as little content as accessibility as subject has had (1-2 a month). While others would have daily to weekly content.

You can post questions etc. to suitable subforums already. Like gear to Peripherals, software to Programs, Apps and Websites, gaming to suitable gaming section, and other to General. From what I've seen, most get anything from couple to decent amount of posts. With some (mainly when it comes to LMG content), get couple of pages going.

As visually impaired myself (though just), I would get most of my discussion on the subjects from peer Facebook groups or mailing lists for national support organizations.

LTT was basically my primary education in electronics throughout my life. I used to just sit on the LTT forum in class all day and answer questions lmao

I think the real heros are people like @Lays @MageTank They personally spent a shit load of time teaching me hyper specifics of overclocking. To think I was just a teenager at the time and these people were dedicating hours to provide screenshots, replies, and just rich knowledge you only get from doing the shit yourself is absolutely invaluable and is a great show as of what a forum provides to a community.

Thank you LTT for keeping the forum up all these years and thanks to the core members who still help others day after day for nothing other than shared passions.

What the actual fuck Linus, you're just digging the hole deeper with that response knowing damn well Steve had receipts. Your ego has gotten so big that everyone else is wrong, you can't be.

Anyone at LMG got a needle to pop it and bring him back to earth? Where's Terren's response to this? This is his ship now (even if he's not full time and still working remote).

You're deflecting good faith criticism by saying that Steve acted unprofessionally somehow. I'm asking how? Is there any actual proof beyond a tone of voice that can be interpreted as disappointment, anxiety, and dumbfoundedness (or all the above?) what standard of reporting would somehow be better? If maybe steve put makeup on and kissed LTT's toes before he started explaining that they'd really fucked up and sold off a prototype that could have ended up in a competitors hands?

It's immaterial. An auction is a form of sale and it's contemptible to pretend there's a difference. Nobody seriously thinks the amount of money made would seriously benefit LMG's bottom line even if they kept the proceeds, but it wasn't theirs to dispose of and they exposed this small company to the loss of their IP. "Yes we basically kinda sorta stole this, but we didn't profit by it (except the profit we made from the video ahem ahem), charity did!" as if they're fucking Robin Hood or something?

@LinusTech Most of us understand that this was a blindside, and good on you for standing up for your team.

Speaking directly about the data concerns, I do think it's important to take Steve's criticisms here heavily (and to an extent HU's). For the past 1-2 years, your videos have been enthusiastic and exciting for a lot of us in the prospect of Labs: a definitive place to find hard data to directly support the consumer.

If Labs is to match your vision, it won't be the amount you spend in equipment, but the surgical process in which you scrutinize and scrub your own findings. And this is all I'm (read: a single viewer) hoping you consider.

The errors in the videos are not a huge deal. You push a lot of videos, and mistakes in a high tempo environment will happen. Catching and correcting is the expected bare minimum, which you do. Reshooting really isn't feasible. Cutting content during final polish is a solution I would consider (such as GNs example with the Alienware build) where applicable.

I'm confident you'll take something from this and better your content and self from this. I've never been in this position so I have no idea what this must feel like. Looking forward to your next moves.

Just stop.... I can smell the cow shit from here; a continent away. You literally dragged him through the mud in the WAN Show segment - all but outright saying Gamers Nexus.  He and his team had the good graces to not say anything when the Lab Tour video was making the rounds; but you just had to say "F*** You." There's something important you need to do......it's called learn to shut up at the appropriate moment.

Is there some kind of dongle/adapter for DisplayPort I can put between my monitor and graphics card that can keep that signal alive?
This bs is really annoying me and causing actual problems when I leave it offline for longer.
I rarely shut off my main monitor anymore when I know I am not actively working on it, but IT needs to work because it cause errors when in this for longer.
I had it several times now that when I need to render or download something over night and come back in the morning: after enabling the Monitor connected with DP, Win10 is in some kind of frozen state. Lots of functions dont work anymore.
And when I try to restart, it freezes completely. I can only press my case power button until it shuts down...
Tbc, all energy options are at full power. No energy saving mode or screen standby mode that starts automatically after a certain time. These options are all disabled!

I really need some kind of solution for this, because I just hate it the way it is now.

    Best regards
