a quick overview of my year, inspired by @sowon

January

Spoiler

January is always a special month for me. As many know, i was born on the 27th and then of course have my birthday. this was the month I got my e50bt.

spamposting all over the forum i came through this month.

a bit earlier i also got my mi8 to combine with it, my first high end phone. also the first time a phone survived a two story drop while it has a glass back.

this was back when i had "only" 6000 posts

https://linustechtips.com/main/profile/554361-lukesavenije/?status=219004&type=status

i already had my pc, but modified it this month with a mb500 front panel

February

Spoiler

the month my personal discord slowly started to take off. i got to know people like @Crunchy Dragon and @GoldenLag a bit better by playing destiny 2 together.

I hit 8k posts this month.

the most special thing about this month was the start of derpy. i challenged myself and others to do a pony at 5000 reputation, which was done that same day. ever since it slowly grew into my icon to this very day.

this month i also started challenges against @LienusLateTips and @Jtalk4456, which are so far still won

this month i slowly started to become friends with my two best female friends, @Princess Luna and @sowon. the level it is right now would make this a mass spam tag, so i won't

March

Spoiler

the month i started on subjectively my most successful thread, the psu tier list. this was still on @LienusLateTips leadership on 3.0, but it started my psu knowledge, interest and enthusiasm.

i also started two other projects I'm proud of: the graphics card cooler list and the motherboard tier list. even if i barely have time to maintain them these days, and will give one of them over to @Jurrunio soon, they've been so much fun to work on.

i made ltt here for the first time

April

Spoiler

the month i went to London, i don't want to talk tech the whole time. here i went to my favourite English club, Tottenham Hotspur. their stadium just opened a couple weeks.

my name was mentioned on the wan show, but Linus failed horribly on my name

the war against @TVwazhere was started

May

Spoiler

the war against @TVwazhere ended victorious.

i got my new tv in, being my first 4k tv, even if i never run it on that. i overclocked it to 144hz and ran it that way ever since.

we started waiting on @sowon's karaoke, and are waiting ever since

i reached 10k reputation

June

Spoiler

the x570 hype started. i kept up with hours of buildzoid, while quickly gaining momentum with early info on some boards.

this month i finished cedar mill as it is in it's current state. i still use it sometimes, but i start to use my laptop more and more

with that the 5700xt came out, looking like the biggest joke compared to the 2070, but with a bit of bitchy pricing turns out to be one of the best value cards in 2019

i started working for the first time at a vr hall, accidentally. i was supposed to be part of a test group, but ended up staying hours longer to help setting up things, discussing problems and so on.

July

Spoiler

I had my biggest news thread in hands. the Ryzen 3000 launch. as i was a bit earlier than others, i was able to end up on ltt again. after this i got a bit tired of news threads this big, as you had to constantly maintain them during the launch with articles and videos. good thing i got a lot of help back then with people sending me them, so i didn't have to look for myself

@Crunchy Dragon got rid of fluttershy, I'm still mad at you

August

Spoiler

my adventures with the ml350's started and quickly ended here. from an awesome, but loud machine with 12 cores, it quickly started to bootloop, so I'm to this day still slowly getting rid of parts.

because i got this server from @Twilight, this was the first and only time so far that i met someone from the forum in real life

i killed a motherboard by plugging in a server fan

my travelmate broke on the hinge, so i got myself my current laptop from twilight

i made the (in)famous focus thread, which later got me famous at Seasonic.

i ordered my first mechanical keyboard: the drevo calibur with outemu blue switches. it's loud, but even with the switches I've tried still something fun to type on sometimes

with that came my first high-end mouse: the logitech g305 in white. it's small, but has an amazing sensor, and was one of the few left-handed mouses i could find

some of my arch adventures started here, but still stayed close to windows

September

Spoiler

this was officially August, but that month is getting too long

i got my first high end cooler, being the gelid phantom black. with this i could actually oc my 8600k, achieving 5 ghz without throttling down.

another 3 deco m5's came in, making a total of 5 m5's and 2 other routers.

starting actual september:

i got myself a keycap kit that i used at the time for my drevo, and currently use as temporary kit for the gmmk.

i started with shaders while playing with some people on a personal minecraft server.

this was unfortunately also one of my most stressful months, breaking down on the psu tier list advanced version, but with help from some amazing people got back up. I'm still so thankful for that to this day. you know who you are.

October

Spoiler

my 5700/5700xt datasheet and cooler diving start, as cards start to slowly come out. i wrote up a vrm datasheet with a bit of help

my adventure with keyboards continued with a 17 switch tester, just to try some more things out.

I got dragged into one of my few distractions, kpop. as much as some hate it, i found it a way to distract myself and enjoy music. ever since i made some enemies with it, but also some super nice friends.

my first and so far only review sample came in: the focus gx650. this then replaced my whining cx550m.

this is also where my biggest and most tiring project started... the psu tier list 4.0. as much work as it has been, and still is, i see some amazing feedback on it here and even outside of ltt. i feel right with saying it's the most successful project I've done.

i made ltt with projects for the first time, making part of the huge success

November

Spoiler

my keyboard slowly comes together, making the mess it currently is. with 21 different switches it might look weird, but will be fixed next year.

I've made my first psu overview and a review of my g305's

we went public on the discord

i went noticed by ltt after a small open rant when watching a lifestream

December

Spoiler

I infected @Tech_Dreamer with kpop by keeping him away from Christmas music

i got my e50bt replaced by a sony WH-CH700N, making it the first of my audiophile approved cheap headsets.

i ordered my (hopefully) final switch, the tealios v2 65g, and hope to soon order my keycap set: gmk dualshot

I'm currently going on holiday during Christmas, but will spend new year at home

this, together with November and December have been personally unstable months for me, but especially 3 people have kept me up as much as they could.

there have been some amazing other things i either forgot to note, are private to me or just didn't note because this is becoming too long. i took around 3 hours off to write this, so i hope it's worth the read

if 2020 can even come close to this year, I'll have an amazing time again. thanks everyone for an amazing year.

happy Christmas and have an amazing 2020!

Same, I haven't done anything productive this year. the only (mildly) interesting thing I've done this year is buy my first vintage keyboard. Maybe next year will be more interesting  @kelvinhall05
