Why should there be laws that require the production of more chargers than needed?  Just plug the device into your computer or one of the chargers you have amassed over time anyway.  If you really need yet another charger, you can always buy one.

They need to make laws against non-replacable batteries and against unnecessary chargers instead.

You can be sure that Samsung doesn't loose money on the chargers.  They will have their prices made up in such a way that they continue to make money.
    No, that's left to guessing.
It's not because people will still request a charger no matter if they actually need one or not.  It would help if they had to pay for one directly, and the chargers could be better quality and last longer.
That they make things that can't be repaired goes for other manufacturers as well and is also something that needs to change.

Broadband Network Gateway (BNG). In the service provider space, BNG is the access portion on the network. It consist of management and operations for customer delivery. Ex. delivery of addresses, traffic rates, tunneling, etc, via PPPoE or DHCP,  Also it's name does not mean it's just related to the common term of broadband.

Accounting consist of far more than just billing. It includes customer traffic usage, logins and uptimes along with logging of assigned IPs which in many regions is required by law.

Outside of billing, accounting is a critical component when troubleshooting on the support side.

Yes this is done from the core to the edge. Bare minimum standard design is to increase both L2 MTU at the concentrator to account for the 8 byte PPP header. Because we are an all Juniper shop, all our devices are set to a L2 MTU of 9216 and our customers that are served via PPPoE can use it with L3 MTU of 1500B if their hardware supports it.

That's not how consumer specs are advertised. They will advertise the best throughput that the device can handle and this is typically basic IP routing, NAT and 1500B packets. If you're lucky, they may provide some other benchmarks including any additional packages the device may support (IPS or UTM for example).

Many providers still provide access via DHCP or sometimes what may appear to be DHCP but the modem/ONT is handling the PPPoE. There are multiple designs, many of which include custom software for handling their access. But to say "internet capable" must include PPPoE, that's just not the case.

heimdali reacted to Alex Atkin UK in Why doesn't LMG use iperf3 to test local network performance?
Because your broadband doesn't terminate at the other end of the line, it gets aggregated at the street cabinet or exchange, sent over the backhaul to your ISP and THEN its terminated using PPPoE.

This is particularly relevant in countries that have ISP competition where the ISP and the physical network are not the same company.  The ISP leases a connection on the backhaul and there needs to be a way to then authenticate back to their network.   PPPoE tends to be used because these ISPs have migrated from the dialup days, over to DSL, maybe then to fibre, so it was easier to use the same method.

heimdali reacted to mynameisjuan in Why doesn't LMG use iperf3 to test local network performance?
It's commonly used because it's simple to tie into billing systems, gives detailed accounting, easy to manage and saves on address space. It's popular because of this simplicity and flexibility. In the BNG space, DHCP is much more difficult from an accounting standpoint.

It's standard in the provider space to increase L2 MTU on all core interfaces to the max MTU supported by hardware, typically you'll see a minimum of 9000B. This eliminates the impact to customer traffic due to overhead from tunneling mechanisms. Ex. MPLS, QinQ, PPPoE, etc.

You should still expect a L3 MTU of 1500B over PPPoE and if not, then the provider is not following the basic designs.

Their main purpose for pointing out test with PPPoE is it is not always done in hardware. This means you may get 950/950mbps on a speed test over a non-PPPoE connection, but on a PPPoE connection you may only see 500/500mbps because it's all being done in software (CPU). Even "high end" consumer routers tend to not have the ability to do PPPoE in hardware.

I agree that iPerf3 should be tested along with SMB because of hardware reliance, but testing SMB alone can still give decent results. SMB has very little tolerance and if you can achieve certain rates with SMB, then there is a very good chance that any other synthetic or real world test will be on par or exceed SMB's rate.

iPerf3 can give you raw throughput, but it doesn't always translate into real world performance because the amount of variables in play. Basic iPerf3 test do not provide much value outside high level testing. It needs to be adjusted to have much value.

Virtually everyone I know has at least 2 or 3 charging bricks laying around they don't use. It's common. Is it something everyone has? No. But it's more common than not.

I kind of can. As people age, they get more devices, and thus, will have cables and chargers. You could also buy a decent cable and charger, and have no need to use the inferior wants that come boxed with devices. Either one of these solves that. It also doesn't require having any knowledge of where a person lives, and frankly, that comment doesn't make any sense.
It kind of does though. You still pay for the phone, it's just amortized over a period of time. You can always get cheaper options than an iPhone, iPhones are almost always the most premium product on offer. My Pixel 7, for example, was better than free. The iPhone 14 would have cost me $840. Saying 'why not let them have it if it makes them feel better' is ridiculous. That's not a reason to live beyond your means. Your final comment also makes no sense. You have to have somewhere to live. You don't have to have a smartphone. Very few people can outright buy a house, a cell phone is in an entirely different price category.
You don't understand why they don't include them then. It's partially cost, and also an environmental thing, whether you want to believe it or not.
If you have so many things to charge, why don't you just buy a multi charger? Problem solved, with less outlets used.

You can as well use RAID5.  If a disk fails, you still have your backups to recover from if you need to.

Really, get an R720, that's your best option within your budget.  Otherwise you can easily end up paying more for a mainboard alone than for the whole server.

It is a big deal to have it sent it back because 1. its not easy for me 2. it was not my fault/responsibility 3. I have provided enough evidence to show that it was most likely done on purpose, to refuse refunding me.

I have been practically forced to buy another cooler from them, instead of getting a refund.

Please also note that this was not just any cooler, it was a defective cooler that should have been recalled and refunded in the first place. Arctic chose to send us service kits and we somehow should be glad about it... I already repaired it myself once. Gamers Nexus did a whole video about the issue.

A different person replied on my support ticket late on Friday saying the exact same things. No refund before I send the 2nd cooler back.
In my reply I included link to this topic and told him why I believe I was sent a replacement on purpose. I also told him that at this point I prefer to do business with a random person on Facebook Marketplace and sell the cooler (which is true). At least that way I will get some money for sure. Sending back the cooler to Arctic maybe will get me a 3d cooler back and honestly I don't trust they will refund me even if I did  send it back.
I think trusting a stranger that I will meet on the streets more than a company says enough. Yes they are legally obliged to go through the refund but what if they don't? I will spend thousands in court for a 120 euros cooler? They know that and they take advantage of that to scum people out of refunds, simple as that. They are so proud of their 6 year warranty and it was the reason I chose them, but in the real world it doesn't mean anything.

Republic of Gamers. Asus varies wildly in quality depending on what component you’re referring to and what sub-brand. For example the 20 series TUF gpu from Asus, according to some people, were terrible, but that is not the case for the 30 series TUF gpus. I have an Asus Prime Z370-A (since 2017) and a Asus TUF 3060 ti and they have zero issues.

In my opinion, monitor qc, is not only due to ones that manufactures the monitor but also the one’s who makes the panel (not the casing and the rest).

Cheap Asus boards, like the prime series vary in quality, and the ROG motherboards (Maximus Hero and Dark Hero) are enthusiast-grade with some really good ones (there might be a bad model or two but they usually are good but stupidly expensive)

Check out Chenbro and Supermicro cases.  Get at least 4U, anything smaller is troublesome.  A rack is worthwhile and basically a lifetime expense.  They don't deteriorate or break down or anything.  Just keep your eyes open and you'll find a good offer.  When you get one, put wheels under it.  You have to be able to get at it from all sides, especially the rear.

When you have a dual CPU board/server, have 2 CPUs in it.  When you buy a server/chassis, make sure the trays are included.  You may need to get screws for the trays or things aren't gona fit.  When you have a rack, you need the rails, so offers with rails included can be more interesting.  New 19" cases may come with rails included.  When you buy a server, don't buy too old because it'll draw way too much power and it'll be loud --- that means anything older than HP gen7 is too old.  Don't buy HP servers unless they're still under warranty or if you have a service contract because otherwise you won't get any firmware updates and nothing.

It is a hell of a lot cheaper (factor 2--5) to buy a complete server than building one from parts.  With a $400 budget, you have to buy a complete server.

First, using word "gaming" in any product name means its overpriced and/or shit. That looks like the most basic office chair with one adjustment.

Second, comfort is very personal preference. Third, even actual user reviews are written after day or two of use. Maybe not even that. If you look at only up to 3 star reviews, you get much realistic look.

Fourth, never buy anything where comfort is the main feature without trying it first. Applies to various things. Chairs, shoes, mice. Pics and measurements can only give fraction of the information you get from one sitting.

No, it's not.  First you have to drive there, and that's expensive.  Before that, you have to make free time for that and that can be expensive as well.
This is not a warranty return but about an unwanted item that was sent against what was agreed upon.  It's their problem to get it back.
