bling got a reaction from brazucarj in MyPC - liquid time
Here I am after a while with some update.
I wasn't completely satisfied with my runs and with the coolant, that leaved some stains, therefore I decided to completely re-do the loop.
While i was at it I removed all the HDDs, in order to have clearance for a bigger reservoir (250) and a bigger front rad (replaced the EK SE360 with a EK CE420). I tried to put a PE360 on top but there was a clearance problem, therefore I had to downsize to a SE360. With the new 420 rad I switched to 3 bequiet silent wing and replaced all to HD fans to LL ones.
I also replaced the cpu waterblock with a newer Velocity RGB nickel, and the gpu block cover and terminal. I also wanted to switch to the rgb plexy top for the pump but it wasn't on stock.
To complete everything a bitspower flowmeter, crycofuel clear and new cablemod cables.
I also delidded the cpu and added a crucial p1 nvme the ekwb heatsink.
Below some picture of the work
cpu delidding before and after
Old loop components ready to be cleaned
New waterblocks and pump placement (still waiting for the new cablemod cables)
Final result

bling got a reaction from BiG StroOnZ in MyPC - liquid time
I finally managed to get my hands on some cablemod cables
I'm little disappointed about the colour, I thought they were brighter, but anyway still a big improvement both on the aesthetics and the cable management.
Then after replacing the cables some heat gun again to complete the work
And finally some lights
I already have a shipment coming and I still have to build the psu shroud

Not saying either is better since I haven't used the VPP775 V3, but I did want to raise the point that the VPP775 V3 is no a D5 and is not made by Laing/Xylem

Vinegar is usually ok for radiators but it can damage other components, you need to check the materials. Anyway I wouldn't trust vinegar in the loop for all that time. Just wash the radiators a few times with water and white vinegar, then rinse with tap water and then distilled water. For all the other parts I only rinse them with water (tap and then distilled)

Even that's excessive. An RX 550 or GTX 1050 are more than enough.

Use a cheap RX 460 or higher (RX 550 would probably be the cheapest), or GT 1030 or better. With the mention that GT 1030 is kind of a bad choice because it has hardware encoders disabled, it can only do decoding in hardware (which seems to be enough in your case).
Another option would be the cheap Athlon 200GE , dual core Ryzen with integrated graphics and a 35w TDP so it's super low power. The integrated graphics has a hardware decoder, so it will play pretty much anything with no problems.
Get the 60$ cpu, a 50$ A320 based motherboard, a 20$ 4 GB memory stick (you can find cheaper at other stores) and you're done... you can sell the mb,cpu and 16 GB of memory on eBay or somewhere and get maybe more than half the money back. In the end it would probably be cheaper than buying a separate video card.
The CPU alone is still sold on eBay these days at 70-90$ ... put it on sale at 50$ and you'll probably sell it fast. You'll probably get 30-50$ for the 16 GB kit of DDR3 as well. Or sell the whole bundle for around 100-150$.
You'll also save on power if you'll leave the pc running 24/7.... let it idle at around 20-30w instead of 50w+ for the old Intel.

Playing 4k HDR video isn't actually all that intensive, the GPU built into my laptop's CPU can handle it just fine. The problem comes when the display outputs aren't able to support it. This was your issue with the 660.

bling got a reaction from Ordinarily_Greater in Top card for 3570k
I'm not ignoring used card, I'm just looking for the best performing card. I'm just not so keen to used cars nowadays because of mining and difficulties to find block for liquidcooling.
Anyway both of you suggest a 980ti, so basically that or the equivalent 1070 should be my choices. I'll look for a good deal on those then.
Thanks!!

I have an i7-2600 paired with a 1060, and the only game so far that where my CPU bottlenecked is BFV on 64-player multiplayer maps.

Could you post a picture with the uv effect in the dark? Have you ever had the chance to compare the lime fluid with the green one? I was indecided between the two but then i went for the green because there're lot of picture on the web and i was pretty sure what i was getting

bling got a reaction from rinikulous in Help with custom water loop
The build in my signature is pretty much the same as yours but in a different case.
I used the phobya pwm splitter and some of the fan header on the maximus hero, but I'm running 9 fans.
The temperature sensor is very useful but you cannot use it for the pump header, it uses the cpu temperature and it's pretty annoying.

bling reacted to Rappalores in Search for my first mechanical keyboard
The K70 was in my pool of choice as well, but I then found the LK30 and despite it being a bit more expensive I felt more comfortable with buying a German Product, don't ask me why. I also didn't like the Red light as much as I do like the white one on the LK30
The K70 is a solid choice as well. Prepare for a better and more accurate feel when typing
