Exactly my friend. I told him to take care of it in the beginning. Now it's this. I'm wondering what I should use it for! Hense it was my money that went into the damn thing which is now back under my desk. Thinking it'll be a theatre pc when I move next spring. Decisions decisions. 
 
On another note I hate that the latest generation of youngins to want a computer don't even have a clue of what goes on. They just want it, done. Make it work whatever. When I was building this with him I tried explaining every step but seemed to bore him soo deeply that he took out his damn phone and looked up csgo videos. To me, and I know I'll get negative comments for this but hey, it's the internet. Fuck it. 
 
To me : If you're the person to look at something and just want it fixed without any effort into it, or built, or mended whatever it may be. And no will to learn how to do it yourself then you better go to college and graduate with a 6 figure job so you can keep this view on life.

It was idling with no programs running. The Avast showing me the CPU usage was upwards of 60-70 percent. With no programs open other than the antivirus. Those 2 torrented games, were not even full torrents of the game. Scanned them and they were Malware. 

let me pull the pcpartpicker list. 

same, in my personal rig under full load i reach around 50c with my h80i v2 and my gpu hits maybe 50c. 

Theres some truth to that, but in all reality. Do what you like with your rig. Just dont be my brother and bitch to me when things dont work.

my Ubuntu is currently idling between 0-3% cpu usage and ~900mb/8GB. 

So with Windows 10 updating Cortana is starting to get more and more useful to the point where I didn't disable it when I reinstalled Windows. The one thing that annoyed me the most though was that it forced you to search with Bing on Microsoft Edge. Unsurprising, but still annoying. Anyway there's a way to get around this and search using the browser and search engine of your choice.
 
Step 1: 
Download SearchWithMyBrowser from their github page and go through the install process.
 
Step 2:
 Ask Cortana to search something, instead of bringing up Edge, it should bring up a popup that asks you how to open it, click SearchWithMyBrowser and it should open using your default browser.
 
Step 3: 
So at this step, Cortana still searches with Bing, in order to change that get Chrometana for any Chromium based browser (Chrome, Vivaldi, Opera, etc), with Firefox, it should already be searching with your preferred search engine.

I physically clean my computer about every 2 months or so and I clean up the software really whenever it feels slower or when I think it needs it.
 
But in the time I've had my current PC I haven't gotten 1 Malware infection.

If it's cancer why recommend an X370 board?

but seriously:
Overclocking increases CPU temps, not chipset temps.
to overclock, you basically just increase the CPU multiplier in the BIOS until the system becomes unstable. make sure to stress test each time you boot, even if it's only for a few minutes, so you can see if the overclock is truly stable under load. at that point, you need to increase the voltage (which increases temperatures) to clock higher.
repeat this cycle of upping multiplier and voltage until your temps are too hot, or you have reached unsafe levels of voltage. when either of those happen, you are done.

This is an ongoing issue (to be expected with a new platform) and something I have researched quite heavily the last day or so.
 
Theres a couple of factors that affect the overclocking of ram on Ryzen (outside the normal board component quality) that we haven't see for a while due to maturity of other intel and AMD platforms
 
1) Only 4 board currently support BCLK adjustments currently (upping the FSB to increase both CPU and ram speeds) - AsRock Taichi, Gigabyte Gaming K5 and K7 (Not Aorus!) and Asus Crosshair 6.
 
2) The fun part - Ryzen doesn't like Hynix ram dims - if you aren't aware, ram companies buy their chips from manufacturers, Samsung, Hynix and Micron are the most popular. Ryzen wants Samsung B die dims which seem to be pretty much exclusive to 3200mhz CAS 14 and 3600mhz CAS 16. They also need to be single sided and 16gb sticks should be avoided

best preformance isn't 2933mhz vs 3200mhz 
go oc and tune your chip to the best preformance rather than worry about small things!

Check your in game settings, as well as your GPU utility application. It could be a few things. It could either be your cpu is thermal throttling, or the fact that its a 7 year old quad core. Most likely like another guy i just replied to, your cpu is bottlenecking your gpu from reaching its full potential.
