Hey man just ignore the new build. As i recently too was thinking of updating my system from an i5 2500k to an i5 7500. But in the end i only bought a new gpu. And used the extra cash for some other purposes. And i can still play all the games with 60fps on pretty good settings
Well with the configuration you are getting you can easily play any games, just get a used hd 7970 and another 4gb of ram with an ssd. Not together but as and when you have cash. And well you can always think of oc as you do have a good board to support you with it. As i said all that earlier. And if you are on a tight budget you can always get some used stuffs.

That is a drastically worse build than what he posted. The GPU is a bit better but the CPU is shit. He should go with what he has picked out put a used 7970 instead of a 660ti.

The 3770k crushes the G4560 lol. CPU's haven't improved very much, and the 3770k was a beast. RAM doesn't have a massive impact, this isn't 2003.

Honestly, I think the i7 is much better value for money.

Get atleast 8gb of ram and if u want to overclock u can, but before change the stock cooler. You got a good motherboard. And try to add a ssd drive if it does not have one.

Depends on what you are going to do with them.

Gaming: Ultra wide all the way
content creation: ultra wide by a small margin
    productivity: dual monitor
    streaming: dual monitor

and I would pick an IPS over TN any day unless you play competitively on a very high level aka getting paid to do so

Hey guys thank you for your suggestions. I just want to update that i finally bought a Zotac 1060 6gb Amp edition as it was on sale with a 40% off as stock clearance from a shop in a nearby city. And i also got a 2+3 years warranty with it. ?

It has RST, but lacks SRT (yeah thank Intel for that naming, not confusing at all). The number of PCIe lanes is the same, but Z77 can split the 16 PCIe 3.0 lanes to three slots while Z75 can only split it to two slots. But who wants to use three graphics cards anyway...

Abhinav Ashish reacted to Sakkura in Motherboard for i5 2500k
Z75 is just Z77 minus the SRT caching stuff. The difference is so small most motherboard manufacturers didn't bother making separate Z75 models.

I've been running a Z75 board for 4½ years though, and it's fine.

As for that Intel board, maybe you could buy heatsinks to apply to the VRMs yourself. Then again, I'm not sure about availability in India, and throwing more money at an old platform might not be worth it.

Abhinav Ashish reacted to scottyseng in Motherboard for i5 2500k
Well, the board is made by intel themselves, so I wouldn't worry about reliability, but as for overclocking, I'd imagine it might be difficult because the VRM doesn't even have cooling. It should cope fine though, if possible try to keep the VRM cool. I'd go for the Z75 board if you want to attempt overclocking...thought you might not get too far.

I also had no idea a Z75 chipset existed..

To be fair, Full HD is 1080p, not 900p. Plus the 6GB version of the GTX 1060 is slightly better than the 3GB version. As in, the GTX 1060 GB has more shader units.

Also that website seems to be fear mongering. It provides almost no information about what anything means.

This here, is my brand new PC build. I just upgraded from my old 4670K and just wanted something newer.

Yes, this was a Ryzen build previously. However, after seeing GTA V (which is my favorite game to play) go below 40fps, I was done with it. I had Windows 10 installation issues that took multiple times. My sound program wouldn't work so that I could customize it. Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1 had constant sound cutout issues. So after all of this back and forth, I'm just back with Intel until AMD makes something come out, on day 1, that is OPTIMIZED. Everything still looks the same as I got the same motherboard equivalent.

So please enjoy this clean build of mine. All specs are down below.

Case: NZXT S340 Elite in Matte White
CPU: Intel Core i7 7700K @4.5Ghz (for now)
Motherboard: Gigabyte AORUS Z270X Gaming 5
    GPU: ASUS STRIX-OC GTX 1080
RAM: Corsair Ballistix Sport LT @2400mhz
AIO: Corsair H60 (for day one compatibility since I was a bit late)
    PSU: Corsair CX750M
    SSD: PNY CS1311 120GB
HDD: Seagate Momentum 7200RPM 500GB (came with previous build. Meh.)

EDIT: Ah yes. I do plan on watercooling but that's in the future. I will update it as that happens.

Yes they are correct, there's no reason why you can't pair a 1070 with a 2500k. The only downside is bottlenecks.

    Sigh... another led astray.

It doesn't matter that your CPU is 5 years old. It supports PCI-E to run the card. Also, the 2500K is still a great performing chip. Now, you'd probably want to upgrade in another year or two, but for now, it's still a damn good beast. Now if you said 8350, I'd giggle a little.

I run a 1060 on my five year old computer. It prob bottlenecks but I dont notice it as it does what I want. Apart from that 65W TDP Ryzen CPU I really don't have any motivation to upgrade my CPU. People over-react and use the word bottlenecking, but when you are upgrading an old computer get what you can afford that is reasonable. CPUs have not improved a lot in the last 5 years

Hey no worries man. These sites are a great tool. But if you have a "computer expert" handy and you feel unsure about the decision or topic at hand, just ask us. You'll get multiple opinions that are more than likely the same. If anything, get yourself an i7 2600K or upgrade to a 3770K (if your board supports the update for it) and you'll be covered for another couple to 3 years.

I never bothered to test it coz I know the card will perform differently in different games. If I get less than 60fps in any game I drop the resolution down from UHD to 1080p. I havnt yet seen a reason to change the CPU. Might be different for people with more expensive gaming monitors but 1080p @ 60Hz gaming has been doable in mid to low range for ages, the only change Iv really had to make is to get a GPU that supports new DirectX and opengl versions

Go for 7500 and save some money, preferably 6gb 1060 or RX 480. You're paying lots for aesthetics and sacrificing performance
