  1. You will never achieve a latency of 0. Are you experiencing an actual issue or are you just chasing zeros? Define "very high" latency. What are you getting, what do you expect to be getting, and why do you have that expectation?
  2. Does it have a unique URL that would allow blocking Shorts but not the rest of YouTube? Edit: the reason that Pi-hole can’t block ads from YouTube and Instagram, for example, is because the ads and the content share the same domain. Afaik at least. So, if it’s the same with Shorts on YouTube, then you won’t be able to block them.
  3. I use an ad blocker to customize webpages, via element blocking, so I see no reason to stop using them.
  4. If you want to hide Shorts on the browser, you can add these filters to uBlock Origin. From LetsBlockIt. If you want to hide it on mobile, then you'll need to do so through an app other than the official YouTube app.

There are a lot of very useful tools in the workshop that some may consider a must. One tool, called Move It, might help you with the adjustments you want to make.

  9. After some digging, the earliest mention of that price range, that I've found, was from an article published back in 2005. Even then, it was from a quote. https://www.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/133073/air-force-testing-new-transparent-armor/ My guess is that every article/site since then has just been repeating this price range. I think the product that was talked about in the article above is from a company called Surmet.
  10. I've seen a few sites claim that it costs around $10 - $15 per square inch, but I don't know where they got the numbers from. https://reefbuilders.com/2019/05/02/transparent-aluminum/ https://www.riotglass.com/transparent-aluminum-vs-armorplast-transparent-steel/ https://studentsxstudents.com/aluminum-oxynitride-the-key-to-creating-transparent-aluminum-4e4233e375f5?gi=5065cee61b10
  11. Cause I'm bored, here's what I currently use in my server.

The server is a Dell Inspiron 5558 (i7-5500U variant) running Debian 11.

I run everything through docker. The containers that I use are:

    • Heimdall - for shortcuts to web-accessible apps (using a custom CSS theme called Catppucin with the background they provided)
    • Home Assistant - don't really have a use for this at the moment, just wanted to try it out
    • Pi-hole - blocking domains
    • Plex - hoarding movies and tv shows that I don't end up watching
    • Portainer - container management made easy
    • Uptime Kuma - don't really have a use for this either, just felt like installing it
    • Watchtower - I like not having to manually update containers

Recommendations for useful containers are welcome.

  12. The two ways I know are either by using Diskclean Up or the Temporary Files in settings. There may be a way to do it through CMD, but that's while it's still in the Local Disk.
  13. It's complicated 'cause you've tried to remove it in a complicated way. From Microsoft:
  14. When I got mine, they showed me a bundle of colors and let me choose, so you can make up your mind when the colors are in front of you. Don’t choose a color that you won’t like ‘cause you won’t change it until they tighten it. It’s all down to personal preference at the end of the day.
  15. “Should” as in you’re not convinced with the color choice, or is there something stopping you from choosing that specific color?
  16. How’s the weather under the rock? /s If you care about speed, even a little bit, then SSDs are the way to go, as everyone else has mentioned. You’re used to HDD performance. You’ll feel the difference once you move to an SSD. You can also watch comparison videos on YouTube if you want to see just how storage impacts in-game performance.

  19. Yes. I rarely see it though; it's not widespread. I doubt that would happen.
  20. I remember reading about pihole causing this issue, but I never experienced it myself 'cause I disabled youtube's history, so I don't know if it's the actual issue. Try whitelisting "s.youtube.com" I'll post a link to the wiki when I find it. Edit: Here it is. https://discourse.pi-hole.net/t/commonly-whitelisted-domains/212

I remember having a classmate who would faint at the mere sight of blood. Not good when you're working with it in a lab. When I woke up, they said they barely filled the blood test vials. Lol. Apparently, just having a cup of tea and some water wasn't enough... I was laying on a chair, thankfully. Hope she's much better now.
  23. I think I fainted for the first time today. That was cool.

Pro tip: make sure you've eaten something at least an hour before donating blood.

I'm fine with blood and organs and such. I'm just not fine with my own blood 😜

For a while any needle would get me, went for a bunch of vaccinations one day 15ish years ago and just disappeared, the nurse said she'd never seen it that bad 😄

Had to warn and ask for laying down anytime a needle was involved for a while after that, but it hasn't been a problem anymore for a few years now
