don't you hate it when consoles you grew up playing are now "retro" and "rare"? I own an original Xbox and was just looking for some games on the used market and my god... people are charging €50 for games that aren't even good. that's close to new AAA game money. like come on....

At least with optical media based consoles you are likely to get a actual retail copy of the game, meanwhile if we look at like Conkers Bad Fur Day for the N64, there are more fake carts than real ones. Not only do I see them online, but also in local used game stores.
For pricing, it is kind of insane. I've sold PS2 Games for up to $150 USD and in box SNES Donkey Kong Set Console for $150, just because that's what the used market is willing to pay. That's also at under current used market value for quick sale, the console for instance was relisted shortly after they bought it for around $300 USD. So even if I don't sell it for a insane price, someone else will grab it and do it.
These are just more reasons why emulation and illegal rom distribution has become so popular.
With that said, that original xbox is probably reaching near death if you haven't replaced the caps. The main one of concern being the clock capacitor, which can just be cut off if you don't care about keeping time when it's unplugged for short periods.

I doubt that, it's still running just fine. it's also a crystal edition so it was made in 2000, just before the capacitor plague. I have also opened this up a few times to clean the dust out and to reseat a loose cable. the board looked fine...

she's more capable than Tarja, and I just like her voice more. Tarja just sounds like a good singer, Floor in certain songs sounds like some kind of Valkyrie goddess, or a siren of sorts. her voice to me sounds almost like an angel.
I mean, technically what you like is entirely subjective and can't be objectively wrong, but it's wrong.
Have you listened to the live version of Sleeping Sun from both of them? Floor sounds a lot flatter to me. There's more power in Tarja's voice and she can reach much higher notes, that she sings a lot cleaner too. Makes sense of course, as Tarja also sings operas.

i've downgraded my MBP to Catalina, i've noticed that both Big Sur and Monterey are a lot slower, presumably because they are more optimized for M1, leaving my older Mac behind a bit.

Fun fact: that's the retina MBP with a single USB-C port. Wanted to install from USB install media of course, but it won't let you do without the charger plugged - and if I used any kind of hub to be able to plug both it wouldn't find the USB drive
