Can't speak for the 1070, but with the 1060 it's 40db to 32db, so a big win for the Jetstream. The Dual coolers on the Palit 1060 and 1070 are identical and the Jetstream coolers have the same fans, so I believe this should apply to the 1070 as well. I have the 1060 Jetstream and it's VERY quiet.

Yes, absolutely. The Jetstream is really a great card IMO, you get a much bigger cooler with much better thermals and acoustics, and you get a backplate.

Watch build videos on youtube until you either feel confident that you can do it, or realize that it's not your thing and you'd rather buy a prebuilt. IMO anyone can build a PC, it's just a matter of putting parts together and knowing a few basic rules. Also, it saves you a ton of money and you get petter components, most prebuilts are utter crap on the inside.

Qain isn't bad. He took time out of his day to help me with a networking issue I was having with a school lab project. I couldn't get something to work, and he took at least two hours out of his day to help me, out of the blue.

He might have a strong opinion and not censor himself as much as some would like, but he cares and is helpful. More than anyone can say for Logan.

And Pistol? I'm just shocked. I thought she was better than this but apparently not.

It's hilarious how things work on the Internet. I remember seeing someone making jokes about Pistol looking like a trap waaay back, now people are acting like it's factual. Nah, she's just a d-bag who fits in perfectly with Logan's abrasive personality.

This has clearly become completely derailed at this point. Sorry OP I'm going to have to lock it.

I'm busy and I don' t have time to PM everyone involved in this ridiculous network switch discussion, but grow up, you guys.

As for my comments on the Tek Syndicate thing, I haven't worked with Logan or anyone from his team since HighLANder, so I don't have any comments.

This is an old message Logan sent to a viewer about Pistol. TBH I think this message is true, she has some observable distinct feminine traits which you won't find on a man.

The newer sensor int the t4i is going to have better low light and noise performance than the 50d. I used to have a t5i which realistically is identical to the t4i and it was a good performer for sure. In the end though, image quality is going to be determined most by the lens you use.
To give you an idea of the quality that you can get with a t4i/t5i, here is a shot i took when i had mine.

That's not a helpful reply. You could instead tell me what you'd recommend, but keep in mind that my budget is only around €350 and I have EF lenses, which means I'm stuck with Canon.

The only 18-55ish kit lens I like is from Fuji.  Nikon, Canon and even Sony basic 18-55 kit lenses... I dislike all of them.

The lowest end Nikon kit lens I would ever recommend would probably be the 16-85 which came with my old D90 (now in the hands of my brother).  The reason I like it is mainly because it was one of the few Nikon lenses that worked really well after I converted a second D90 body I had to infrared.

I am very reluctant to recommend lenses like the 70-300, 55-200, and somewhat divided on the 18-200 and 18-300.  They make sense for people who want the most versatile lens possible while carrying the least amount of gear, accepting the sacrifices they might have to make in terms of quality.

While lenses like the 18-105, 24-85, 24-105, and perhaps the 18-140 are OKish to pretty decent, if not stellar.

But frankly, all of the lenses I mentioned, even the ones I am reluctant to recommend, they can be used to capture good photos.  Don't share a full resolution version on the web, and especially don't share straight out of the camera images.  Always go over your photos at least in a software like Lightroom first, and everything will be fine.  I've a friend who's a fantastic photographer using a Nikon D40 until a couple of years ago when he upgraded to a D600.  The photos he took with his D40 are pretty good, and he helped me out quite a bit when I transitioned from film to digital.

Look at what you can get before you sell and buy.  Make sure the items are available.

And I will assume you already know how to check the conditions of second hand camera and lenses before you fork over the money.  Though just in case I will share a guide on this:

You're taking an extremely simplistic, if not fatalistic approach here. First off, Polaris was never meant to compete with the 1080 or 1070, AMD has Vega in the works for that. More importantly, the market share of super high-end cards like the 1080 is TINY. If you look at the statistics on Steam, people using cards like the 980 and above don't even make the 5% mark. While there's always a lot of news and hype about the high-end cards, very few people actually buy them. Polaris may not be the sensational megachip you were hoping for, but it's got all the characteristics of an excellent money maker.

Secondly, PGA/LGA is completely irrelevant once you've installed the chip on your motherboard. It has no effect on the performance of the CPU. And what do you mean by "brute power approach"? What other approach is there for CPUs? Is Zen supposed to be slow but super-efficient? That wouldn't help. We've already seen it will have both significantly improved IPC and power efficiency, and a high core and thread count are hardly indicators of a chip you should be having "bad feelings" about.

I disagree, almost all the "mainstream consumers" I know use i3 or i5 chips, the people willing to spend money on an i7 usually do have a reason for doing so, at least in my experience. Be it for (future) gaming, rendering, video editing or whatever else, there's definitely a lot of people that would benefit greatly from bringing 16t cpus into the sub-$400 range. The enthusiast i7s, with tthe exception of maybe the 5820k, I hardly ever see anyone use privately. Granted, this is all anecdotal, but I know a lot of people here have been longing for exactly this kind of advancement for quite a while.

Man I got some bad new for you if you supported Reagen. Yes there are
multiple reason for minimum wage: paying for food, shelter, insurance,
children. The first minimum wage was considered radical at $.25 if you
don't calculate for inflation.  It was paired with limits on hours to curb the
ridiculous hours and pay that messed people up in the industrialization
period and beyond.  Or exactly how America says places are so bad forcing
people to work 70 hour workweeks for dirt pay, minimum wage puts us apart
from that.  I'm sure those CEOs can suffer not accepting 100 million dollar bonuses :'(
It would actaully be in the 20s
