I'm not a fan of the idea of the US becoming a socialist nation so... No thanks. Even though I don't think Congress would allow some of his policies go through, I don't want that risk.

As an outsider to me he is the first candidate in years with an acceptable opinion, at least in my relatively uninformed opinion. He may actually be able to do some good for the USA even tho he may die of old age while in the office. :P

Socialist ideas will not work or go through in america. They just won't. People will have protests on new bills passed and nothing will get done. In a perfect world communism is the best way to rule a country but corruption has always ruined it

A lot of Bernie Sanders beliefs will just blend right into modern America and I believe he has the power to possibly fix the corrupt campaign financing and lobbying in congress. Remember, America is already very socialist- and his policies on free public education and college (stuff like community colleges, not ivy league schools- something many people get confused) would be amazing to help promote a bright future for America. A vote for Bernie is a vote for a president who actually cares about his people.

Not quite how it went.

Jewish people were sent to a part of Jordan called Palestine then through terrorism created a state. The UN drew borders and created several treaties all of them got ignored by Israel.

They have also used chemical weapons against civilians (Geneva convention states that you cant attack hostile groups when civilians can be harmed).

Combine this with torture and imprisonment without fair trial.

I donated to Sanders' campaign, he stands for what we have in the UK, decent workers' rights, healthcare and social services and to deny anyone of those fundamental rights is an act against freedom itself. He's a public servant with his heart in the right place, but with idealistic ideals that will be hard to implement in the US.

 

He keep refering to the Nordic countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Finland) as success stories of his policies, and he is mostly right.

What is left out is that those countiries are much smaller than the US and they have governmental systems that very different from the US. For example, non of the Nordic countries have state rights to respect. 

 

Also, I'm probably one of the few socialists (yes, I will call myself that) that doesn't support a legal minimum wage. 

I'm a big supporter of the Danish Model, where minimum wages are handled through yearly negotiations between labour unions and the employer unions. 

And if you hire non-unionized workers at slave wages you are sure to have the unions up your ass, making your professional life very miserable.

However, I realize that this could be a hard thing to implement in the US, seeing how the unions aren't as powerful as the unions in Scandinavia.

 

All that said, I would support Sanders if I was in the US. 

I still hold that it's better to have unrealistic good ideals than to have realistc bad ideals.

I keep reading how it would never work or is not possible In such a large scale, etc. I still don't understand how you can expect change without trying anything at all. Obama is living proof that traditional liberalism and moderation won't accomplish nothing but more of the same. Americans will probably vote Hillary in and expect something to improve when it will be the opposite cause you're all basically too scared of change since you listen to extreme rhetoric far too much.

Economically he falls flat on his face and his ideas on taxation are absurd. Too be honest he might be the lesser of 3 evils between Trump, Clinton, and himself. As long as Hilary doesn't get elected I can see SOME positive things coming from Sander and Trump.

He proposed close to no changes AFAIK except for a tax on Wall Street speculation. Which people claim will hurt the economy but I don't believe people will stop trading just because of it, nobody wants a new tax but if it's imposed people will rarely go out of their way to avoid it.
