You can't complain after over spending on the 780. You know it is overpriced.

4GB Vram is only useful for triple screen resolutions and even then it's only in a scant few games where a real benefit will be noticed. Even though a game might use over 2GB Vram  a 2GB and 4GB card perform exactly the same so the extra ram is just a big waste of money. Even at 5760x1080P the 2GB and 4GB GTX 680 perform exactly the same http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Video-Card-Performance-2GB-vs-4GB-Memory-154/

No they don't need to step up. HD 7970 GHZ is the fastest card on the planet yes faster than GTX 680 and that's what it is in competition with. AMD wins in every single price bracket for performance, Price, extras, and game developer relationships. Don't ask AMD to be in competition with cards they don't have.

Actually the 7xxx series has been the best so far from AMD Radeon HD as it has the best price to performance and driver support that has ever been offered. Not to mention Never settle Bundles and a bunch of AAA Game developer relationships and console monopoly.
Actually nvidia with the 7xx series has the highest power draw throwing back to the day's of GTX 480/580 however at the same time the 780/Titan are faster than anything else right now but the catch is they are extremely over priced for the performance you get.

Again the 7xx is more power hungry and not any cooler than comparable offerings from AMD.

All are really just kinda gimmicky features.

AMD has acquired Ati, all next gen consoles, developed major game developer relations, and is doing all the right things gearing toward total PC, console and game developer market domination. The only powerful thing that nvidia has going for them in the PC gaming realm is their marketing department but I predict we will see how it goes in the next 6 months to a year as the new consoles take over and so does AMD with the acquisition of most to all of the game developer relationships and streamlined drivers and game code that are tailor made to play nicely on AMD hardware both CPU and GPU and APU consoles and PC alike.

Well that's the thing. AMD is catering to the gamer and end user. nvidia is doing whatever they are which is what I am still trying to understand. Shild is not moving PC gaming forward but it is trying to consolize the PC experience which is a very stupid and greedy move. I am no fan boy cause I would say the same if AMD was the culprit of these travesties. nvidia has always been greedy and a hindrance to invocation with all the proprietary junk they try and promote. My prediction is that nvidia fail's hard within the next few years which is a good thing as we don't need to turn PC gaming into a console type thing.

You want your GPU to be used right that's why you bought it. Why would you want to only use some of the performance and not all is a wonder to me. When the GPU is pegged this is a good thing as it means that it is not being bottleneck by a sub par game engine or CPU.

I tried triple monitors on nvidia and AMD. Many games don't come with triple screen profiles and as well most games perform like crap at that high of a resolution.

AMD cause it will be bundled with BF4 and give better performance for the price. 780 is overpriced. If you want nvidia get a 770 which is still overpriced but not nearly as bad as 780 .

Glenwing is correct. However, having a monitor calibrated does mater even if you don't do print work, as content appear properly on the screen, the closest possible from real life.
Some monitor are too over saturated on some or all colors, or all washed out, or the green has yellow in it, and so on and so forth. Things that needs to be adjusted to get the best visual experience out of a monitor.

However a color calibrator can only go so far. Color calibrator only check a set number of colors, and not all 16.7 million of them. Better (the more expensive) the color calibrator the more color it can check and calibrate. Those 200$ calibrators are usually a good start, but it's not even checking 100 000 colors. Only a hand full. While I am not saying to buy those that cost 100k, all I am saying, don't buy the 100$ ones.

Also you need to make sure that the color calibrator support our monitor, and also that your monitor needs to support DDC/CI protocol.
If you don't. All you'll get a color profile. While yes you can load it in Windows, or image software, it doesn't apply the colors everywhere. Only on supported software, like Windows Live Essential's Photo Gallery, Windows Viewer, pretty much all image editor, for example. Firefox and IE supports them. Not Chrome.
Everywhere else, it will be the same old same.

No 2gb would make absolutely no difference @ 1080P. Vram is very misunderstood. The HD 7850 cannot address more than 1GB Vram because it is not powerful enough. Even if it could the graphics core is to slow and would bottleneck before the 2GB Vram buffer get's used. Every review and media publication that reviewed the 1GB HD 7850 agrees and quantified that thew 1GB HD 7850 performs identical to it's 2GB variant. There will be of course the Vram nazi's that swear tell the cows come home that Vram is what makes a card faster etc but they are mistaken.

Not true at all. Even when the Vram buffer fills out it makes no difference. There's another thread on this forum in where we posted a link to where it proved that there is absolutely no performance or smoothness deference between the 2GB 680 and 4GB 680 unless playing at Ultra high resolutions like 5760x1080P.
