  1. I do not use all fingers to type. I use all 5 on my left hand, to very varying degree, pinky only do shift and ctrl. Its not the "standard" position at all. Right hand 3 fingers, also not "standard" position at all. Kind of feel I write better with left hand than right hand even tho I am right handed, I am guessing its because of gaming. I do type "only" about 50-60 wpm if I try, but my brain usually cant think fast enough to type that speed anything other than short bursts (one sentence or less), so I dont really care to write faster, as my brain speed would be the limiting factory anyway. Even more true with programming. But if you work to type or have a fast brain it might be something, but if not, meh.
  2. Based on this: https://folding.lar.systems/gpu_ppd/overall_ranks Yes your GPU is underpeforming by a lot. My RX 5700 XT is doing 1.3 million PPD or so if I had run it all the time. I do not know why tho. You dont starve your GPU by running it on few PCIe lanes or something else running in the background?
  3. There is arm mounts for monitors that can be wall mounted, ad have height adjustment. But I don't know if any have enough for your use, and at the same time not collide with the monitor bellow. But you could probably find one were you can make the top monitor overlap with the bottom with 30% ish. And if the bottom one is height adjustable you can adjust it as far down as possible I do not have any specific models to recommend tho.
  4. Stick to 16:9. Ultrawide sucks for photo stuff. Go with 1440p 27" or 4k 27-32". Prioritise other things over number of Hz.
  5. I don't use ad-blocker, just blocking trackers. I don't know why, but when viewing videos on pc YouTube when logged in, I only really get YouTube video ads at the start of videos unless they are 30 minutes long. But while in incognito/not logged in in another browser, I get way more. Both start of video, get in the middle of video in 15 min videos, get ads after I have skipped 4 minutes of a video etc. I do not know why.
  6. If pricing is the same as with S23, S24 will probably be more expensive than Pixel 8. While S23 FE is cheaper than Pixel 8. S24 FE won't come out in a long time, I'd it comes. S23 FE has a telephoto camera while pixel 8 doesn't, but I am not sure if that is better than just digital zoom on Pixel 8 main camera.
  7. I am not that way with those kind of games. I have never really bee interested in any old games and have made zero effort to play them either. They just seem lacking compared to newer games to me. But I usually put games I think are bad or don't want to play for other reasons in folders in steam that is always closed so I don't have to see them. But I do have a few games that has been in my visible, to be played later category, that I have never truly started up yet. Just every time I see them it's just, maybe another time later, I will play something else now. I know they are good games and sort of want to play them but I don't feel I have motivation/the subconscious want to play them. I should probably just put them away in one of the folders I don't look in but I haven't yet.
  8. Good job Norwegian Data Protection Authority!
  9. LTT videos are 18:9 When you select 1440p the video itself is 2560x1280. When you select 4k, the video itself is 3840x1920.
  10. It's much better to be limited by the GPU than the CPU. And there will be something that is a "bottleneck" no matter what, and it changes from game to game. Stop thinking about it as much.
  11. For me personally it's just a smart switch so it's just a 2700k light that turns on. GU10 bulbs that one of them is pointed right at my face. Unsure if it does much tho. Can only affect how fast you fall asleep, not how well you sleep or wake up, some personally have no effect from that as that isn't an issue I have. Might help OP tho. In Dark Reader you can set it to sepia, aka Brown if you want. (I don't) I personally use dark mode everywhere but nothing to do with sleep for me personally.
  12. I would not recommend using vinegar on things that has rubber in it. Vinegar can damage the rubber and I don't know what that does to the smell.
  13. You can think Google have enough money or don't deserve it. But if you think Google don't have the right to try to stop you from using ad-blocker, you are just wrong.
  14. They could have, and some country governments would have if EU didn't exist, but I now for sure that many countries wouldn't have done it on their own too. Those have those laws because of EU. GDPR Common minimum emission standards (for example cars) Common minimum safety standards ( for example cars) "Warranty" on digital goods are getting implemented Apple has to switch to USB C (new law) Companies must keep spare parts available for things like dishwashers, clothes dryers and so on for 10 years minimum (new law) Don't know what year it came so can't say it wasn't before 20 years, but: 2 year "warranty" on things you buy(it's not named warranty but still) To mention some, can find more if you want to. There are more but can be a little tricky to find spesific things because I'd you search for it in Google, usually only the oldest or newest ones show up (or ones impacting internet the most like GDPR) shows up. Those in between require better googling. Plenty things are also small things, but lots of small good things ads up.
  15. Does not need physical locations to operate somewhere. For one they spesifically build their site to be used there with languages/translations and stuff. If Facebook and Twitter did not want to operate in EU they would have to for example not let EU IP address log in to their site. When it comes to blocking websites, I believe that possibility would have to be done by nation by nation, yes. But I am not totally sure.
  16. I don't wake up if I use a single alarm in the morning. But my solution to that is that I have an alarm going off every 3-5 minutes, and then I will be awake after the 3-5 alarms usually, sometimes longer but usually not. My light in my room also turn on about 10 min before the alarms, don't know if it makes much difference but I started doing it and don't want to try to stop doing it.
  17. I highly doubt Microsoft will have Microsoft Defender behind a subscription. Microsoft Defender is probably one of the reasons why much less people think Windows --> viruses now compared to what it did before. I don't think they want that go come back. Also, for windows I think it would be a stupid idea for them to have a subscription for the consumer in general. No matter if you like it or not, Mac marketshare have been increasing, and requiring windows subscription would only have increased it even more.
  18. It might look tiny bit more soft than a native 1440p monitor, but it will still look a lot better than a same size 1080p monitor. More and more games let's you to set seperate monitor resolution and gaming rendering resolution. If you do it that way, I am pretty sure AA will still be done at 4k but the game renders at 1440p. Maybe it's different from game to game. But another option is that if game supports DLSS or FSR you can set it up to render in 1440p ans scale up to 4k. That will look better than just 1440p.
  19. Worth noting that with services like that, if it transfers lots of tiny files or few big ones you will see large speed differences. Folder with thousands of kB sizes files will be a lot slower than if you have a single file that is the same size as them.
  20. I did but even if it improved with driver update doesn't automatically mean it also wouldn't have improved if other things were different. Issues can be caused by more than a single thing.
  21. I think it could be either or. Or even bad port on the GPU. I would try another cable first tho. And plugging it in to another port on the GPU if you have other ones.
  22. I wonder if Luke having the card on a riser, and them having had other GPU drivers before even if they used DDU, actually played a role.
  23. I like it, the same way I like when there is a skip intro button with TV shows. It's not because I don't have the attention span, it's because I think it doesn't add anything of value. If anything it's immersion breaking. (In my opinion)
  24. Less distracting, I notice it less. Compared to one of those tiny notches. Why not have pixels there if it doesn't change how much it covers much? I don't personally use face log in, ans if they do have depth sensors and stuff what I said about bug notches become true and I would rather just have a bigger border at that point.
