Why would you ever get that PSU? Especially for that price.

You could look for a used i7 4770 or 4790 and keep your current board and RAM.

There's one going for £170.00 (buy now) with 4 days left, unfortunately I can't send you the link as the rules of this forum say you are not allowed to it.

yes, it'll still boot but it may look weird because of driver conflicts/missing drivers.

H and B motherboards will most likely come out next year, any CL i5 will be better than any ryzen in gaming (i5 8400 seems to perform like i7 7700k or very close).

The larger ones should perform better thanks to better cooling. The one you linked to ins't bad though.

Ebuyer is very good. (I have three monitors, two coolers, a PSU and a graphics card bought from ebuyer, never had an issue)

EDIT: In terms of UK retailers, I'd say Scan.co.uk is the best, followed by Overclockers.co.uk then Aria.co.uk and Ebuyer.com. I also use Amazon if there's not a big difference in price and I can get it delivered next day on Prime.

AIB SKUs differ by one or more of these three things:
Clock speeds out-of-the-box Power delivery circuitry for better overclocking potential Cooling solution So there is potential for better performance, but the only one that's immediately evident are the clock speeds.

Also eBay is hit and miss depending on who you buy it from.

arranb1223 reacted to KSP in Do different variants of the 1070 perform better than others?
Because of Pascal, any 1070 variant will perform within 1% to 2% of each other. It really comes down to thermals and noise and a deciding factor between each variant. That 1070 Mini is a good card, but it's more meant for small form factor builds, so thermals and noise aren't going to be the best. But if the price difference is that substantial, then it's not a bad card. As for ebuyer being a reputable place to buy from, I cannot say as I've never bought anything from them.

It depends on the game, but when my i5 4440 started bottlenecking my GTX 970 hard in Fallout 4....

Not sure about the other games, but GTAV is a total dog from what I hear, and people have been having performance issues with it on much higher spec'd hardware.
For the most part though, your CPU will be a great match with that card.

    First off, good PSU choice

And well, it depends on game and what monitor you'll use it in. In 1080p it will keep you from getting those 144Hz frames but if you're locked at 60 it doesn't matter. In 1440p for the most part no

As others said, in some situations it will. As long as you aren't trying to run the game at 100+ fps, you shouldn't see any performance hit in most titles.
Hell, an overclocked i7 can bottleneck a 1070 if the game you are trying to run is coded like crap.

arranb1223 reacted to KaminKevCrew in Good £100 headphones for EDM
It's got to not be the M50X. First off, they're 125 pounds, so that's over OPs budget. Secondly, they are really only worth $100 USD or less, if you were to buy them new. Thirdly, they have no soundstage, so they will likely make many listeners claustrophobic, not to mention they're insanely uncomfortable for most people.

If you think the M50X is actually studio quality, you're having a complete laugh. The bass is really bloated, and the treble is extremely hot. So no, they don't make sound song sound like it's supposed to. Thirdly, EQ won't fix the issue that is a lack of soundstage, so there's that.

I know a few audio professionals who know their studio headphones, and to a tee, none of them find the M50x to be any good whatsoever.

Finally, haven't we beaten the M50x to death by now on this forum? Seriously, I almost think that we need something in the sticky that just flatout says that it's (99% of the time, anyway) not the right recommendation.

I'm sorry if all of this is coming off as mean, I don't really mean for it to be. I've just been on this forum for a while, and we've had this particular conversation a number of times, and really, it's just not worth beating around the bush any more.

As for something that would be worth purchasing, I second the philips shp8000, and I'd also suggest the SHP9500.

Man its got to be audiotechnica ath-m50x's
Mine have lasted me 2 years already and are showing no signs of wear or tear. great for edm and if your tastes change all you have to do is change the eq on your phone/pc and then they are good to go. The headphones are studio quality so are designed to output exactly what the song was meant to sound like with no effects or bass boost (some can be added if you want  ) and build quality is outstanding
    A solid pair of headphones
