I thought getting a i3 coffee lake or anything non k was pointless since the only chipset out right now is z370, and I would have to get a 1050 ti instead of a 1060 for even more.

It's not pointless, just not recommended.

Why would you ever get that PSU? Especially for that price.

There aren't that many other PSUs cheaper than that. Most are 49-60 and The few that are cheaper have no 80+ rating and are not modular at all.

The CX430 isn't modular either. The Pure Power 10 400W and CX450M are much better PSU, and cost less.

Edit: seems like the CX430M exists, for some odd reason

It is modular...

Semi-modular

But why? It's a low end rig, so aesthetics shouldn't matter. And the CX450M is a better PSU, and is also semi modular.

What if aesthetics do matter?

And the way how I search and compile lists on PCPP only take things in stock from one store, Amazon UK in this case. Not everyone wants to buy from multiple different merchants. the CX450M is not in stock.

Then there's the Pure Power 10 400W CM, which is in stock in Amazon, and is semi modular.

Aesthetics and buying from only one store should be a low priority, especially in budget builds.

Then either it's not in stock at Amazon UK or it has no 80+ rating and isn't modular.

Also should isn't always. If you want to make a list go ahead and do so on your terms. I'm just showing what I think is ideal. To you it's not, and that's why you're free to make changes to the list.
