Hi,

I'm wanting to upgrade my CPU as it bottlenecks my 1070 quite a bit. Could anyone please recommend a good CPU that wouldn't bottleneck it? (and for a reasonable price) Also if I was to change socket, I would also have to change mobo which would cost more so lga 1150 is preferable.

Thanks in advance.

You could look for a used i7 4770 or 4790 and keep your current board and RAM.

i7 4790's seem to be very expensive like £300 compared to only like £270 for an i7 7700k. Although if an 4770 is sufficient then that might be an option.

There's one going for £170.00 (buy now) with 4 days left, unfortunately I can't send you the link as the rules of this forum say you are not allowed to it.
