Anyone know of a reliable and trustworthy ad blocker for Chrome? Used to have Ublock but that extension is now redirecting all most of my searches to Bing ... so yeah, fuck that!
-
Weird.... All my searches with Ublock origin go to Google still.
Have you checked Chrome's default search engine?
-
Do you mean uBlock or uBlock Origin? Because I use Origin and that hasn't fucked with my search settings.
-
I've been using Adblock Plus for years, never had a problem with 'em.
Pretty reliable. Uncertain about trustworthiness, but they claim they don't collect any user info.

I'm getting charming-tabs.com redirects, from a quick search, it's usually related to malware or an adblock extension, from multiple scans, there's no malwares, then I tested each extensions, only one I had redirects was when ublock origin was enabled, even when it was the only one enabled. I'm surprised it has that because those redirects are usually found on malicious adblockers only.

I'd run MalwareBytes then, just in case.

Ah, I missed that. Forgive me, I'm drowsy.

i doubt ublock is doing that to you, probably some other app -
It's not a popup, it's a redirect (I do a search in the URL bar, it starts loading Google, then quickly switch the URL to charming-tabs.com, and ends on Bing with the search result).
I disabled ALL extensions, including the Google ones (like Google docs), and the only time I'm getting redirections, is when ublock origin is enabled. Even Edge Chromium is not redirecting me to Bing ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

uBlock Origin works fine for me..
Uhh.. uninstal and reinstal ? -
uBlock Origin and Origin Extra should not redirect searches to an alternative search engine (one that is different from what is specified in your browser settings). I'd have Google Chrome run a clean up operation if I were you.
