IT is a big field and covers alot. Comptia A+ is the basic get your foot in the door for t1 contact centre. Unless you have a university degree and multiple certifications before you apply for the job there are 2 basic ways to get into higher up positions. IT is a learn what you enjoy and are good at. There are alot of fields from networking, server, SaaS, CcaaS, etc. So many certs and most will be very narrow in its use case so depending on your each company it may require new ones which alot will simply pay you to take.

    1. Put your time in on the service desk and get your foot in the door at a company. Many will promote internally if you show your skills and willingness to learn. Not all will do this sadly.
    2. While working get certifications for the positions you want. CCNA/MCSA/etc to get into the portion of IT you want to go into.

tldr: have degree and certs for jobs or work t1 and work towards certs for positions you want.

To me this is the biggest issue companies like Google need to deal with BEFORE they keep attacking their end users. TV had to vet out which advertisements they allowed. Some bad things would slip through the cracks but for the most part they were ontop of what was being used for advertising on their platform. Online advertising is just a giant cesspool of more than 50% of everything I see is either a straight scam or not an accurate description of what is trying to be sold. They have bots scanning every random youtube upload to check for copywriten music/video/etc where before its even seen by the public its flagged. Yet users have to be the ones to report to Google and alike that the ads they are serving are another "MR.BEAST $1000 Giveaway IF YOU BUY NOW" scam by the official MR.Beast company called "Sir.Beest Prudectionz" official sponsor on youtube for kids.

Google expects everyone to stop using adblocking when users are being served 20 minute ads 3 times in a row for a 1 minute long funny video a youtube channel with 10 subscribers uploaded for a school project. and while trying to find the video for class you have to scroll through at least 3 sponsored videos with straight up scams trying to look like giveaways.

If ads where not nearly as visually/audio/length intrusive and quality controlled I don't mind them nearly as much to try and find ways to circumvent them.

My main issue with ad is companies like Google dont do enough vetting and like video muting/algorithm/what have you, alot of it is not sent over a human persons desk or seen by a human. Its approved with a set criteria. Please show my ignorance as I would love to see how ignorant people are allowing every other fake Mr.Beast scam company getting through to be able to ads on sites like youtube. If ads where not mostly scams/malware/etc more people would be ok. TV advertising has some of the same issues where we had years of the magic electromagnetic bronze wrist band that was said to cure all ailments. but for the most part they are vetted to be inm line with whatever channel that are published on. If im watching a simple commercial for yogert I have no issues but every other ad is meant to look like a legit video with clickbait title in hopes to scam you when you click it and install malware.

Google and these companies are going about this the wrong way imo. If they simply vetted better for ads and simply made them less intrusive to the experience they are selling then more wouldnt be googling how to get around the anti ad blocking features.

honestly not a fan since it constantly shows up on my main page so I cannot see when a new video is out and It keeps suggesting while scrolling random videos. Maybe its just me but if there was a way to have would be better imo....

I wait to see blue dots for new videos and its constantly showing new ltt live stream but its just the silly TV thing instead of a live event which is nice to tune into to listen to while working. Not a fan of the constantly live tv...

Watching the "apology" video. I only have quotes as 2023 apology videos are just common these days. They addressed the criticisms made and they are working to improve the workflow. Looking at the video it more appears it was a breakdown of the hectic upload schedule and growing pains of having a CEO as well as having Linus in every video. I do appreciate the bit of LTT humour in the video even though some kids will see it poorly. Overall a very well done video accepting the criticisms and addressing it for the public which is a bonus for everyone.

I hope they built into a better work culture and from this create better videos that are not only there for the entertainment value (random crazy hardware or the AMD 5K upgrades) but also more informative videos and reviews of actual products people will use. I would love to see more normal computer case unboxing even if its not a full review with testing. Bring back The lanboy case opening outside of NCIX on a public bench lol.

@LinusTech I hope you and your team dont get discouraged by Rabble-rousers and can go through the comments to find proper criticisms and conversations that will help LMG grow as a community.

I still stand by my initial statement that every company/group/etc can be criticized as long as it is meant to be constructive and open up a conversation. Maybe it was a kick in the pants that was needed to fully bring to light some pains other peers in the space have. I hope everything was done in good faith to help your team evolve and view internally what needs to be changes/adapted/improved upon. For someone who works in the IT space with a large company and  at times has to have these conversations they are never "fun" but they are needed. To me its a great place to really make great changes that not just peers in your sphere and community but LMG as well.

I hope fans on both sides can cool down a bit knowing they are trying to address what was said in good faith here with proper conversations.

mods need to go through alot of this as alot of the conversation devolved into a yelling match with fanboys on both sides spitting at each other. nobody is changing minds here and I dont think the conversation is going to go anywhere.

hard to see as it started out as a company criticism and learning from it devolving into whatever half these conversations have become.

The amount of people creating accounts or burner accounts to not folly their mains to say "here is my opinion" to then add nothing of value is crazy. I stick by what I said before. People on both sides appear to be misinterpreting what is meant by each others wording and meanings.

Every company can and should take criticism. Its about how you handle it and grow that is important. That is what is of note here its a criticism of LMG and there where points and arguments made. Making it public (said that video wasn't set for monitization and no sponsor) was for the benefit of LMG to help push their points and start a larger conversation. Honestly I wouldn't use any LMG video as the be all for complete guide on my buying decisions and simply use it as enjoyable videos with larger budgets than most channels using tech. If anything more emphasis on "do your own homework and here are some sites we like to use" would be great. To be clear both channels have visible criticisms. There are some for GamersNexus I dont agree with their stance on but Its not a topic for this forum. Where there are things I disagree with on LMG as well. Both should be able to be criticized and can grow from it. This to me isnt some hit piece to create drama but instead a great learning opportunity to hear back from competitors in the same scene giving listing out their issues where LMG could build solutions.

It will be great to see the improvements made from these sorts of discussions. I for one love being part of those hot meetings internally at my company as you build out what is wrong and how do we improve.

That is a odd issue for android. I wish they had a more universal one built in based on account like apple. I believe they have the family app but I dont believe its in base android or that companies have it installed at startup.

You have a pretty healthy budget to get any keyboard you want. Just make sure it's hot-swappable so that you can try a variety of switches.
For that specific one, NuPhy does sell the the switches by themselves.
