There are many, many videos on Linus's channel that show him building PC's. I'd watch a few of those.

Also just FYI if you click the "quote" button you can reply directly to a person, it gives them a notification. 

Personally, a Fractal Design Define R5 Blackout Edition W/Window is one of the most aesthetic-ly pleasing cases. The Razer edition of that case tho... Not a fan. I think they are both on par with eachother, where one lacks the other fixes it. Like a ying yang.

This 8 thread CPU probably helps a lot in that, I wouldn't change that.
Does your software benefit from a good GPU? Does it use CUDA cores, or is it better with AMD's stuff?
How much more or less is something like an i7 5820K and an X99 motherboard? (that i7 has two more cores/4 more threads than your current CPU)
Wouldn't this software run a lot better with more RAM? (Stuff like 3D modeling or Photoshop do, that's why I'm asking)
 
And last question: is that WD Black HDD much more expensive than a WD Blue?

I would get a Xeon 1231v3 and 16gbs of memory instead. Same performance in games, and the ability to multitask far better thanks to double the memory,
 
But if you're limited to those EXACT parts, then yes, its fine. Though that 8gbs is going to bottleneck you before your gpu/cpu ever do.

I might change the 6700K to a 6600K.

1080p or 1440p? Also Budget? 

I would go for an i5 6600K and add the SSD (if gaming mostly)
Also, you should make sure that RAM is DDR4 (that's what you motherboard can handle)

Fusionblitz is correct, for gaming, you don't need hyperthreading. 
Evidence: I have a 6 core AMD cpu, and AMD doesn't have hyperthreading on any of their cpus.

If your that worried about HT, get a 1231 V3.
Same core but locked multiplier, lower clock speed and no iGPU compared to the 4790K.
4690K will be fine anyway, not sure if they sell Xeons in your area.

Hyperthreading won't be that big of a difference for you so the 4690K will be just fine after you overclock it.

I'm very certain the 4690K will meet your needs.
