Hello guys,

I'm about to build my new pc and I'm really worried about the cpu.

Unfortunately i can't afford i7 4790k so i guess I'm stuck with the i5 4690k.

I read some write about hyper threading. I will use the pc for gaming and some civil engineering programmes.

I know it will not be that good comparing to the i7 4790k.

This makes sleep goes away.

I keep wondering if the i5 4690k will fail me or be that bad..

Hyperthreading won't be that big of a difference for you so the 4690K will be just fine after you overclock it.

I'm very certain the 4690K will meet your needs.

4690k will be fine. you'd benefit from a i7 if you are heavy video editing and heavy modeling. Even then an i5 could probably still do that so don't worry and just goto sleeps zZzZz

If your that worried about HT, get a 1231 V3.

Same core but locked multiplier, lower clock speed and no iGPU compared to the 4790K.

4690K will be fine anyway, not sure if they sell Xeons in your area.

Fusionblitz is correct, for gaming, you don't need hyperthreading. 

Evidence: I have a 6 core AMD cpu, and AMD doesn't have hyperthreading on any of their cpus.

You can't pressume what Overclocks you can get, it's completely luck based for all we know you may end up with a bad chip that doesn't overclock well.
