t895 reacted to Phentos in Does Underclocking Make Components Last Longer?
The only real benefits derived from underclocking are reduced heat output and better power efficiency.

You will not reduce the lifespan of components, in fact they might last longer than they normally would.

t895 reacted to bgibbz in Why is AMD losing against NVIDIA?
I cant watch the video right now, but that isnt the reason. AMD has repeatedly been producing lower quality products. They have been behind in innovation, and there marketing has been nearly as well. Besides, the vast market share exists in OEM products rather than custom built products, so your argument that "non enthusiasts did it" isnt exactly true. Nvidia has ran itself better as a business, and have produced better products. Look at the current generation for instance, nvidia has had 3 GPUS released for over 6 months that havent even been contested by AMD. This post violates community standards btw.

Is the motherboard orientated correctly? FOr me, the hardest thing is the IO shield and heatsink.

You should get a 120GB or bigger SSD, I have a 120GB SSD in my system right now, I have had it for about 6 months and it is half-full. It has plenty of room and it is really fast. (At least compared to my Hard Drive)

Personally I see myself as a realist, with just a dash of optimism. I can't necessarily relate, but do some things that'll make you happy. Travel a bit, even if it's to the park down the street or to a different country all together. Go somewhere you've never been before. Do things that you've never done before. Get a buddy or two together and try out that restaurant you've never been to, visit that arcade in town, or pick up a casual game of soccer/football. It helps much, much, much more than you think it will.

It was spectacular going against the odds because my parents at the time didn't believe that I could do it, but they gave me a try and now I have a badass PC for a great price!

My parents think the same thing . Just gotta prove them wrong.

Glad it went well! Even though I read the manuals, I still feel I did something wrong . We'll just have to see when my RAM, GPU, and CPU cooler arrive.

I had a really hard time trying to do cable management for the very first time. I guess it looks alright for my first try!

Adjusting settings was one of my first experiences with PC gaming. I find it fun, for some reason. If I ever got to the point that I didn't want full control, I'd probably get a console.

t895 got a reaction from Poster in just wondering, why everyone hates nvidia
I love Nvidia, but if I had to guess why some people hat Nvidia is because of that whole 970 thing with the 0.5GB portion of the VRAM that was significantly slower than the rest of the VRAM. I don't care and I do plan on buying a 970 myself whenever I have enough money to buy one. It is perfectly fine and I don't care. However, this doesn't mean that I would buy an AMD card if there was a better deal on it than a 970. I love both companies and I hope that they continue to supply quality video cards.

I think that I will go for the 970, I don't really mind the 3.5 GB dilemma, it should be plenty for 1080p. Thanks everybody
