  1. Job Postings. So I belong to a few groups on Facebook. We have one that's more for the residence of my city and things about on goings and such are posted there. Also occasionally a job might be posted. I also belong to a county job posting group. The primary reason most of us work is to pay our bills and to survive. So why dont these people post important information. Such as Pay, benefits, and hours. If I needed to find a job if that information is not provided, I will NOT apply. All you need to include in the posting is the name of the business, address/contact info, compensation and hours. I feel if that information was provided they might have better luck finding someone, and that potential candidate can set their expectations accordingly.
  2. The laptop plans have more than 2Gigs of data. As I posted with my link. I’ve heard some cellular providers can be particular about how sims are used. As in if they are for one type of device being used in another might be a no no.
  3. https://www.t-mobile.com/business/plans/small-business-unlimited-data-plans#Connected-Laptops This is what I was talking about. Its specifically a plan for laptops. What your bringing up a plan that is for tablets, which is offered to normal consumers. Plan I linked starts at $25 a month. I see they have a tablet specific plan that starts at $20 a month. These are part of the business plans. Where as on the consumer side they offer a tablet plan starting at $10 a month but it only has 2 Gigs of Premium data https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/affordable-data-plans?INTNAV=tNav%3APlans%3AWatchAndTabletPlans . My point is that any way you look at it, your going to have limits, like where you have a hotspot. The top end T Mobile phone plan gives like 40 Gigs of high speed data before you are throttled to 3G speeds. For most people paying for a higher end phone plan with the hotspot data probably makes more sense then paying $20+ a month plus a phone plan.
  4. Link? T Mobile advertises as low as $25 a month however you have to call to order and its only on business plans. Verizon was definitely more than $10 a month.
  5. All you can do is look up the laws. If your government did its job there could be some consumer protection laws in place. You complain to the government and they reach out to Amazon.
  6. That all depends on where you live. In the US all warranty service has to be between the customers and the manufacture, unless you purchase a service plan from the retailer, then you generally have to deal with the company that handles that service plan. Generally all the retailer can do is offer a refund according to their return policy assuming you didn't damage the product and you are with in the return window. In the EU all matters should be handled by the retailer from my understanding.
  7. The only Windows devices I have ever seen with cellular connectivity were either Business laptops or ones that used a ARM CPU, as with Microsoft Surface Pro 9 that offers 5G its only offered on the Microsoft SQ 3 Model.
  8. They probably had no way of knowing that before they apprehended him. Also now days any kind of threat like this is taken seriously. The Airport likely isnt the reason. The traffic was likely intercepted by an intelligence agency (MI5, MI6, NSA, etc). OR the person who received the message and or snap chat decided to report the sender.
  9. Lets see here. You cant offer them a email, phone number and you dont have a password. You expect they are just going to delete 4 accounts because you asked? With the amount of scams, hackers and cyber criminals out in the world today, I dont think they are just going to take your word for it that you own those accounts. Furthermore you can complain to the government or courts, but again you have no email, phone number or password you can provide to prove its your account. The only other thing they can do the verify is maybe your photo ID. Also if you read the top of their support page it does indicate they have more tickets then usual, therefore its going to take longer to respond.
  10. That works. But if your wireless spectrum is full, there is not much you can do. In an apartment 2.4 Ghz is probably next to useless and 5Ghz might even be full as well. Plus many routers dont support the DFS channels because that requires special certifications from the FCC. You have to understand that there are limits to what WiFi can do. In my opinion the first step is evaluating the airwaves with a WiFi analyzer app and see how bad the situation is first.
  11. No you cant convert the Fiber. The ISP will have an ONT onsite which will convert the Fiber. The ONT is kinda like the modem part. The issue is if your ISP is AT&T, in most areas they use a ONT/Router combo. While there are ways around using their box, its not for the feint of heart. It requires some real knowledge to get working and at any time it might stop working and AT&T doesnt support the config. Your best hope will be using IP pass thru mode on their box and then using your own router. As far as a router goes, how fast is your internet, because that plays a bill role in suggestions.
  12. Half the Windows 11 updates seem to cause issues with gaming performance. Many times theres a work around at least from the articles I have read. Im still on Windows 10. I figure by this point Ill wait for 12 and see how that goes.
  13. The easy solution would be Ethernet. You basically live in the worst environment for WiFI. You probably have elventy billion WiFi networks around you. Your airwaves are probably full. Depending on out densely packs with apartments the building is 5Ghz might do better. You can use a WiFi analyzer app to see what the spectrum looks like. Maybe configure your WiFi network to use channels that are less utilized by other networks. If any of your devices support 6Ghz that might be an option due to it not being as crowed, But it does have less range and penetration power, so likely wont cover the whole space. If the walls are thick that range will be even less. Its probably under powered. Im surprised you have an external ONT because AT&T's combo should have an ONT built in. But they use the same combo box for ADSL, VDSL and Fiber I believe.
  14. A properly trained, insured and Licensed electrician. In all seriousness, used to have a similar issue, but it was in the whole house. Ended up being the wire from the transformer to the house was loose. Once the power company fixed it, the issue went away.
  15. While that's true. Traveling by air sucks. The airlines nickle and dime you. Airport security sucks and they couldn't stop a terrorist if one came up and bit them in the ass. They cram as many people in to a plane and make it uncomfortable, especially to larger people.
  16. There still are trains in the US, 30% of all freight is handled by rail. The issue is passenger train service is not practical because it utilizes the same infrastructure as freight. I have used Amtrak, here is my review : Even with the problems I would still use the service. But it takes just as long as driving to get to where your going. Some issues we have Current infrastructure With freight trains only getting longer, it makes many Amtrak trains late, so we need to build dedicated rail for passenger service. Amtrak doesn't have the funds, even though they are pretty much government owned to build out that kind of rail. However, Amtrak has partnered with several states and are expanding services. Money They talked about it on the WAN show how our government paid hundreds of thousands for fucking trash cans. People see headlines like that and dont want to pay more in taxes because the dickheads in DC will just waste it. Then there's the ignorant people. These are the people who feel that government provided transit means they will have to give up their cars. Cars in their minds = freedom. No where did any one bring up banning cars. The scale of the project and doing it This is like building out the interstate. It would require a lot of careful planning and execution. Between a failing school system and anti immigration, I dont think we have the skills to pull it off. People are not getting in to skilled trades. Then you need someone smart enough to design a rail network that actually works and make sense. I personally would support dedicated rail, much like I support the efforts of NASA as I think those type of project benefit us all. But its never going to happen.
  17. I wonder if the solar panels got covered or maybe solar radiation took its toll?
  18. No. That just the router I have and I know its capabilities. I haven't used Ubiquti or other options that are out there. Keep in mind, I said that this is not a typical use case for most. You are treading in to high end consumer gear or business gear at this point. OR you build something yourself, but that comes with its own issues.
  19. Doesn't that headset have a Dongle for wireless? Looking at the product page the Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT is the only one out of the 3 in that line that support Bluetooth, but according to that it supports Corsairs Slipstream wireless. Your probably better off using Corsair's Slipstream wireless than Bluetooth. I have experience with Bluetooth on Windows and its not that great. Generally the proprietary wireless connections offered by keyboard/ mouse and headset manufactures works better than Bluetooth.
  20. The Dream Machine router is $299 USD and I paid $200 for the Synology router. On top of it the product page doesn't show dual wan. The cloud key is not a router, its for managing Ubquiti equipment. Dual WAN is not a typical feature as most people dont have multiple internet connections. Just bare in mind that with PFsense you still need an wireless AP if you want WiFi and you need a network switch because those are two functions that PFsense sucks at. I would probably also watch some setup videos on YouTube as well. Because setting this up is not going to be as easy as using an off the shelf router solution. Also I know Amazon and Ali Express have small mini computers who are generally built for this purpose, not sure on the cost but it might be a more affordable solution.
  21. PFsense should. As far as what hardware to use, thats a bit outside my knowledge as Ive never used PFsense or Opensense for that matter. As for an off the shelf solution I know my router the Synology RT2600AC does and I know some of the Ubiquti stuff does.
  22. Thats why I go and get the food. Today we had Door Dash deliver a order at the job. The issue is the building we are in has at least 3 separate business's. I work in a warehouse. So when you put the address in, it comes up to the building, not the unit. Most of these delivery drivers are too lazy or stupid to figure things out. OR the people who are are stupid and dont put the name of the business or unit they are in. So the food sat outside from about 10:45 am to noon when we went to lunch. The good news is its cold as balls outside due to winter, which means the food was probably still good. We tossed it in the fridge and waited to see if someone claimed it. But I dont think anyone did. Not sure if someone ate it. Once came back to work on the Monday and found an order from Saturday sitting outside our will call door. I ordered Door Dash once and gave instructions to bring it to the will call desk and they just left it outside the door. These people cant follow simple instructions and they expect a big tip before they deliver you food.
  23. I ask myself that every day. You need your washer machine radioing back your laundry habits, because thats what its doing. These devices tend to have horrible security. All I need is for my network to get compromised due to a crappy smart device.
  24. Reminds me of when my friend bought the collectors edition of Duke Nukem Forever. Got a Duke Bust. I always jokingly tell him he should display it.
  25. Thats a driver issue. Sounds like either the driver is not included with the installer or the WIFi adapter is not compatible with Linux.
