Suggest you get a 27" IPS screen and you can relax in your chair. Not to mention IPS will make the PS4 games look good!
(Ye, 144hz or higher than 1080p or gsync wont do much for PS4.)

    The fairly new Fractal design Venturi fans look promising on paper but I've haven't seen them around much as of lately;

I've used it to buy 3 games, each time worked fine. I would say if you can get a game dirt cheap then go for it but I wouldn't spend over $20 there

1 have great story but awful gameplay so I recommend watching Lets Play. 2 is great and you can import saves from 1 which makes it even better because all the choices you made will be there and in 3.

UHD I'd assume, because even 1440p/1600p still shows jaggies.

nothing wrong with it, it's just dependent on the resolution of the screen (higher the resolution, lower AA needed)

with a 27 inch, 1440p can let you lower the AA a little bit, but 4k is your solid bet. I wouldn't bother with 4k just yet, not many gpus can push 4k past 60 fps constantly (not to mention the lack of 120/144hz 4k panels)

No. Wait for Windows 10. Even though 8.1 gets a free upgrade, the process might cause problems that can only be solved by a reinstall. Just wait until July and then buy 10 Pro at launch, because that's when it's cheapest.

It's player base was small and the game offered little variability so people's interest died quickly

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click Search.)
Enter sign, and then tap or click Change sign-in options.
Choose the sign-in option you'd like to use, and then follow the instructions.

Going with air cooling would be better for overall temps when not removing moduvents.

I know them feels, it is a shame to have such nice moduvent-foamed panels on the top only to remove them, but I tried the front rad thing and my temps were worse.

Also about your question of the Noctua CPU cooler vs the H100i, I can't really speak to it since I've never owned or heard the Noctua. The H100 will totally give you better CPU cooling though.

If it's clearance you're worried about (I think you have Push/Pull there?) I was able to fit push/pull on the top of my R5 even with the massive heatsinks of Dominator sticks, so that shouldn't be an issue.

See the top has padded foam for sound dampening, what i am looking for is the optimal fan configuration for the space provided there. Also this case is new so the equipment in here was from another case this is why I have an h100i in there, but if i can improve my temps which might reduce noise I am all for it,

Running NFA-14's in my Define R5. Set up a curve with your CPU temp. Mine run low and slow at idle (800-900 RPM) and it's pretty quiet.

Some people like be quiet silent wings, or gentle typhoons. Fractal silent series are also good. They've also got new Venturi fans which seem like their answer to expensive Noctua fans.

an H110i would perform better, and using 140mm fans will make your build quieter
I suggest some nf-P14 1200rpm PWM fans, and set a fan curve to have them running at minimum rpm at idle
this is as quiet as you will get

this can be close. If you get a loud pump the air cooler will be quieter. The liquid cooler should make less noise, temps will be close to each other. I like air just because of failure rate and general airflow across the motherboard. Each their own on this one.

The Fractal Design Define R5 like the R4 is absolutely fantastic. High quality, fair amount of foam to deaden the sound and decent airflow.
