rasesh got a reaction from doomsriker in Windows + Existing Nvme + Install - Please HELP!
Hopefully it works. I have Microsoft office 2016 and everything installed on my boot drive + a lot of information on it.
iI's a 960 evo so don't know how I could even remove that data if the above didn't work before doing a clean install.

rasesh got a reaction from johnukguy in Some guy selling new 1080Ti for $188...
The worst part is when Ebay and Paypal throw you around between each other.
My bro's been thrown around between the 2 companies saying "no, the other has to help you with that, etc ..."
Till you get mad and they do something for you.

rasesh got a reaction from johnukguy in Some guy selling new 1080Ti for $188...
Im extremely new to Ebay so I did an impulse buy but I did use Paypal so after you guys said it's most likely a scam I logged into PayPal and hit "cancel payment" as he hadn't accepted the payment yet and I got it back.
Is this all I need to do?
Thanks.

Yo dawg, have you ever heard of small form factor PCs? They're all the rage right now! Not to mention all of the 92mm heat sinks. Many that Noctua themselves make. While not as popular as 120mm/140mm fans, they are still popular. Not to mention, even if you never use them, it won't hurt you if Noctua makes them.

Yup! The more people help spread the word the better!
Use Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, whatever needs to be done & get that link to everyone!
It might not help that particular person right away but they never know when they want a 92mm in future builds or something or for friends and family.
Try to keep the comments going on the petition aswell as here to keep this thread high so more people see it!
Thanks for the support!

rasesh got a reaction from DailyProcrastinator in $188 CAD - worth it?
Wow!
I did't know all that.
yeah I should try and buy it for his asking price.
Makes sense.
I was just worried that Black Friday and Boxing Day sales would be insane and I would be stupid to invest now atleast in ram.
Guess not.
Thanks!

Insane, can't believe ram costs as much as my motherboard.
FML.

With what your dad does, getting 3200mhz and 16gb of ram is a must.

Chrome uses, on average, between 100MB and 200MB of RAM per open tab.
Firefox is roughly the same at around 100MB per tab.
This also depends heavily on extensions and other background processes but right now with 2 Chrome tabs open it's consuming 1GB of memory.
If you assume OP's father has ~50 tabs open at any given time, ignoring all else, thats between 5GB and 10GB of RAM usage.

rasesh reacted to Inversion in Got CPU knowledge? - Help
It's no myth. I've run out of RAM on my PC (8GB) with 10 tabs and spotify open. If he's using loads of tabs and office all the time he'll definitely need at least 16GB and preferably 32

rasesh reacted to HZapperz in Got CPU knowledge? - Help
16 should be adequate, getting 32 would be fine if he had the money, but if hes on a tight budget 16gb should be sufficient
-
rasesh reacted to Inversion in Got CPU knowledge? - Help
yeah 16 is enough but 32 would be great in an ideal world. I understand people have budgets. Mine are always very strict

Spend what you want but with that workload I'd spend less on the CPU cause you can always in a few years when current ryzen 7s are really cheap used

No, cpus don't save their state. Its working parameters are set by the motherboard, so it makes no difference whether it's been used before or not. It's safe to buy them used.
