  1. So it still reset after about 30 minutes this time around, no load just general use. The sound it makes is as if you long pressed the power button or pressed the power switch on the back of the PSU nothing obvious would be shorting out I don’t think it would be ram causing the issue. If it’s the motherboard… I don’t get why it would take 11 minutes then with a new PSU take 30 minutes to shutdown Some reviews say the B550 Phantom Gaming 4 has had issues similar to this
  2. Well curiosity got to me and decided to put the CX750m in and I’m checking metrics of the CPU underload these match what it was requesting from the 550W G3
  3. I'll think about it tbh but I don't think it'd be anything but the PSU, so I dunno what it would achieve.
  4. and I should add, it was fine in workload for more than a few hours but then I dunno it had one shut down and reset, then another within the 10 minute mark. So I just feel something's either wonky with the config that the PSU doesn't like or momentarily the current is tripping the PSU, or it's possible the PSU is dying but that seems hard to believe personally but it is possible. I personally had somewhat made my mind up on going with an 850W EVGA G6 but I also have a brand new CX750m on hand that I could use, but I didn't want anyone trying to say "well the EVGA is better quality so go for that" because I already know it's better quality but I know the CXm will be just as safe even if it's semi and not as higher end as the EVGA is.
  5. it's doing like a hard reset then reboot after about 10 minutes sometimes but it's gotten a few hours before and the PSU is acting like it's hitting its upper limit. Like I said it was just for comparison purposes, it could be CXm or it could be EVGA G6, that's not really the point of the post. It's strictly if 850W is a good idea or not, I lean towards it because the price difference on some models isn't that huge.
  6. Well, the 550W EVGA G3 wasn't having a good time with those parts...
  7. Which one would be better for a Ryzen 7 3800XT and RX 6700XT? For this system, would the 750W be enough or would 850W be better? (also in case anyone asks if the 850W would be of higher quality, let's assume they're both from Corsair's CXm line and the variation that's available for purchase this year.)
  8. new PC built on thursday! But uh, I guess the EVGA 550W G3 can't handle a 3800XT (undervolted and clocks locked to 3.9GHz lul) and RX 6700XT lmao

so uh hopefully an EVGA G6 850W will be adequate?

  9. So here's the deal, I have these Sony SS-U21 bookshelf speakers, and I want to use them with my PC (ideally through a built in headphone passthrough on a monitor using HDMI or DP to pass audio) I'm just not sure what the most compact and cost effective solution is for achieving this because I don't really want to spend more than US$100-$200 on a solution, unless it would be absolutely necessary to go more expensive... Hopefully you guys can point me to the type of thing I'd need and what would be the best for the money, thanks!
  10. Well hello again y'all lol

Uh haven't built my stop gap PC yet lol
I received the GPU last week, got it used for $300!

Waiting on a new mobo to arrive from Newegg (B550 Phantom Gaming 4) because my bf wants to get a 5700G again and the B550M-HDV would be perfect for that so I want to keep it unused

installed in a test system (R7 1700 with 16GB of ram)

  11. So for AM4, I personally believe that 3200MHz is more than adequate considering I was running 2400MHz ram with a Ryzen 7 1700 and 3800XT and it was fine. I actually picked up some 3200MHz DDR4 for a sort of refresh and stop gap upgrade I'm doing to my PC until I can swing a major overhaul and platform change. My primary question, is there any particular reason for wanting to go with an RTX 4070Ti, I don't personally have any issue against it for slightly higher than 1440p high refresh rate gaming... Though I'd see how RX 6900XT/6950XTs and 7900XTs compare for the money in your country, unless that's something you already looked into and the 4070Ti was cheaper than the AMD cards? Overall I think that's a solid plan if you're happy with your B450 board
  12. How big of a deal is $30 (US pricing, not sure what country you're in)? each dollar won't really net you the same amount of performance in a percentage point.
  13. not with that Attitude it won't /s didn't realize that Zotac card was 356mm lmao
  14. This is what I'm going to suggest. If you want to rep NZXT here ya go... if you want to rep MSI I gotchu (I really like the looks of both of these combos lol)
  15. Got to love stop gaps! (Coming soon, likely towards the end of the month)31FA88E1-FE61-4717-9A12-720E9D0069ED.thumb.jpeg.8304c8d51a6e8be0b2546b144a69a2d9.jpeg
