Adnanklink got a reaction from Mira Yurizaki in Will a 15ft HDMI Extender degrade performance noticeably
For the hdmi signal, it will either work or it wont (quality is irrelevant). For usb its a similar story but when data doesnt reach the other end it may just skip movements or even drop the connection all together (depends on the implementation). That being said 15ft is not a whole lot of extension to worry about.

Isn't there some suggested outline for asking this question on here somewhere?

First off to begin with my first rig (for myself, been building and selling/ modifying for a while) which has gone through quite a few phases even though the specs didnt change all too much.

    AKPB1 Specs

Cpu: Intel Core i7 4770K Cooler: Swifttech H220 Mobo: Asus Gene VI z87 m-atx RAM: 4x4gb GSkill ddr3 1600 Mhz Case: 350D SSD: samsung 250gb evo HDD: 3TB Green GPU: 2x 7870 Ghz edition PSU: XFX something or other 850W PRO Black edition First it had the swiftech AIO, then I expanded it with both gpus and another rad, then i scrapped the h220 cause the pump sucked (Loud and weak) and added another rad, micro res, cpu block, and swiftech mcp655 pump making it a fully custom loop.

Now this system was fine and dandy for a about a year until my storage needs were to no longer met with a mere 3TB in the system and no room to expand.

Next obvious choice for me was to get a bigger case/ upgrade as it would cost me about as much as a decent NAS where as my computer is on 24/7 and acts as a NAS among other things for me.

Along with the case, I also changed out the mobo (cause it wouldnt look right with an matx board in there) and while i was doing that I decided to sell/ give away a lot of the older parts such as the gpus in the system and rebuild my entire rig. I also took the opportunity to try my hands at rigid tube water cooling.

    AKPB2 Specs:
Cpu: Intel Core i7 4770K Cooler: Custom Rigid Tubing water loop Mobo: Asus Formula VII z97 mobo RAM: 4x4gb GSkill ddr3 1600 Mhz Case: 900D SSD: 2x samsung 250gb evo in Raid 0 HDD: 3TB Green + 2x 3TB Red drives GPU: 1-2 gtx 970 PSU: XFX something or other 850W PRO Black edition Notes:
Yes! that motherboard shield is spray painted. I used white plastidip with a clear overcoat. I say 1-2 gtx 970 cause i have 2 but one is the gigabyte overclocked edition rather than the gaming edition (which i want) so I neglected to open it for now The Graphics cards arent water cooled because I need to sort out the whole gigabyte versions of the chip before I do that as well as the specific waterblocks just being constantly out of stock! All the fans are controller via an nzxt fan controller in the front of the case and all the channels are set to the lowest speed (I assume 5-7V per channel) Plastic tube in the basement leads to a plug that I can open to drain the system. Will add notes as I think of them..

I completely agree with this statement. It is kinda ridiculous how much hate cf and sli get around here, IMHO I think that if you can build a computer than you can deal with the problems that they might bring with them (there aren't even very many issues left now that the micro stutter is gone). In exchange for that, you get so much extra horse power per dollar as compared to the high end gpu's and almost all the games that truly need the power, scale well with 2gpus.

I also think it is funny how so many people plan on buying one card now and then adding in another one later and then so many people just hate on these configs (may or may not include some people in both categories).

Oh and this, needs to die. People spew this out whenever a multi GPU question comes up. Sure you can apply it to many cases, but it's not the answer to everything. Sometimes a multi GPU configuration just makes sense.

if your cpu is past a certain threshold (which is quite low to be honest) in performance than it will not make a difference in most games. Some games might benefit a lot like rts games where a lot of CPU bound things (physics calculations, Unit AI, etc.) happen at once.
