The build hasn't reached it's 'final form' as previously described. You know, with the expensive low profile ram and a GTX1060? But given the thermal limitations with it's current specs, I don't know if it ever will get to that point, being realistic. It did however get to a very complete and useable state, so that's exactly what I've been doing with it.
 
It lives in my bedroom next to my actual consoles, hooked up to the same TV, and it runs all sorts of emulators and older games. Paired with wireless peripherals and it works like a charm, I'm currently regressing to my childhood and using it to replay NFS Underground 2  

I'll add a follow up post tonight with a few pictures, but i essentially just mounted the gpu, finished the front I/O and did some cable management  

Put Linux on it and use it as a learning experience. 

Would make a good boat anchor.

The fans have finally arrived, but i didn't have much time today, i will probably make the cutouts tomorrow.

A small update, I received my cables etc, but I'm struggling to solder my new power cable because of the heavier gauge wiring; my soldering iron kit is

So I ordered some new solder and flux, hopefully this will help. Otherwise it'll be time for a new iron.
 

Just make sure nobody tries to move your PC case by the headphone stand as if it was a handle. I could see that ending badly!

Getting rid of HDD as this case works as a speaker with resonation. 1TB m.2 SSD ordered to fix this. After the last package arrives this will be completed.
 
Things to finish: Power buttons USB3.0 + Audio jacks to top of the case Test how badly 100% negative pressure works here

Allthough the project is over I've started making matching gear for my pc now. It never ends does it:D So I made a custom lamp all it needs is some varnish. Metal went to the chromer yesterday. Some pictures below!
 
Some fairly hardcore materials metalwise:D Here's some 4 inch solid pipe and a 3 inch shaftsteel.

Hit up Craigslist.  That, of if you know anyone in an IT field of work with any sort of business may have racks they are trying to offload.  Several companies I have worked for have been moving half of their servers to virtual and just been giving racks away.  I have one waiting for me when I move to my new house.

You can do backups to an SMB share

I own 2 T3500's myself and I've never needed a specialized copy of Windows. I installed both a standard copy of Windows 7 and PFSense onto these machines with no problem.
 
Try the USB ports on the back of the machine because I think I had a similar issue. The flashing underscore suggest either it is attempting to boot into one of the HDD's where the bootloader is corrupt, of the boot USB is not configured correctly. The fact that you haven't gotten a Dell error for "no bootable devices found" suggest that it is booting the HDD first.

I like blue builds.  I think pc part manufacturers should sell more blue parts.

Black Ice Nemesis GTX 80mm radiator may have won me over, instead of the scale generic radiator, sometimes you just gotta do things that feel right.. It also allows options for different compression fittings, versus the welded inlet/outlet ports. I've mounted the classic aluminum framed Evercool 80mm fan. I'll probably paint the fan dark grey. 
 

 

 

 

Sorry to hear this man. You're doing the right thing though, I would hate something that I poured my heart and soul into, to end up as something that I couldn't care less about.
Well, I wish you all the best... you certainly have the right stuff as far as I am concerned, and that's pride in your work and integrity, which is much more than I can say for some business owners.
I think you will go far, and you will be even better at this stuff once you have completed your training. All I can say is I wouldn't give up on it completely if I were you, I would put it on the back burner until you've had some more time training in your skills, and you may think of another way to do it, or improve upon it even. So IMO it'd be better to give it time to see what to do with it if anything... if you for sure kill it or give the project to someone else, then you may regret it. Maybe give it 6-12 months and then decide, at least then you could say you gave it more thought while you weren't stressed about it. Completely your choice of course, I'm not trying to dissuade you, just don't want you to regret in the future after all the hard work you put in is all... I support you either way
 
Anyway, I wish you all the best whatever you do. Keep working on something, even if you kill this project for sure. You definitely have the skills.

Actually they got bought out by Verizon & the team were re-assigned to work on Verizon's streaming service, it wasn't unsuccessful, if it was unsuccessful they would not have been bought out.
 
IMO Vessel was awesome & I was sad to see it go, I got in when LTT got signed & people got a free year because of it & after that I kept paying for it, because it had a lot of my favourite creators on there & it was worth it for seeing a lot of content 3 or 7 days in advance, plus I could cast to my Chromecast as well that was always handy.

Do whatever you can.  I'm interested to see what your video style will be.

so ill be having my very own workshop its not that much but its ok for me ill be renovating it and make it a little bit better. After my workshop is done and all of my parts arraived ill start the build
