MSWindowsinside reacted to TechTipper4 in Gamers Nexus alleges LMG has insufficient ethics and integrity
I think the main thing that is standing out to me is the amount of double standards that there seems to be.
At the end of the day it’s not up to LMG to decide how Billet runs their business or what products they develop. It seems to be that they’re hiding behind the excuse of trying to ‘help’ them. Just last WAN shown Linus was talking about people were trying to talk him out of making the screwdriver… Also last WAN show Linus was talking about someone at LTX having a prototype backpack which he wasn’t pleased about. But then he auctions off Billets prototype. It may have been a mistake but if they’re aware of the sensitivity of their own prototypes then they should be extra cautious with other companies prototypes.  Finally, Linus has said he is disappointed that GN did not contact him before publishing their video to gain context. Yet they were more than happy to publish the video ripping apart Billet even though LMG are the ones who did not use the product as intended but was the context of this clearly explained in LMGs video? Over the years I have learned that sometimes you’re going to get stuff wrong, at work and in life and that is OK. For me the best way to deal with it is head on, reflecting on the situation and figuring out how to avoid it in the future. This is how you grow and improve.

MSWindowsinside got a reaction from Spotty in How can a high quality PSU fail after 6 years?
Update: I requested an RMA for the Corsair AX760 on their website and it was accepted as a "one-time courtesy" according to the rep I'm emailing with. As they have no stock of a similar unit, they will be replacing it with an HX850i. I have returned the PSU and will very likely receive the HX850i in the coming week.

I'm actually quite happy that they accepted the RMA, I expected it to not go through w/o any proof of purchase.

MSWindowsinside got a reaction from Tera Byte in RIP Windows 7-Time for an upgrade.
Microsoft still needs to make money, so they likely want you to buy a new license instead.
The free upgrade was mostly a marketing stunt, if everyone had to pay to upgrade many people wouldn't have done the upgrade. They made it seem like a limited offer, because they can't just give out free software while the company needs to make profit too.

For Windows 8.1 you would need a new license key. For Windows 10 you can use your Windows 7 key for activating AFTER installing. This method is not on Microsoft's website anymore, but it still works and has no ramifications.

For people who end up here with a search engine: PeopleExperienceHost.exe is part of the My People experience on the taskbar starting from Windows 10 version 1709. You can forcefully close it using task manager > details tab to resolve this issue..

So it looks like there is nothing more, beside officially release security updates. So I will unpin it.

Microsoft is also discontinuing Skype for Business (not the normal Skype UWP, that one is still supported being a UWP app. Skype for Business is a Windows Phone 8 app. It used to be called Lync, it is uses a different network). Microsoft says that the app will not be available in the Store anymore, so if you need it, get it now. Last date is May 20th. Microsoft says that the app will continue to work but can't guaranty it anymore. But I would not be concerned, as Skype for Business is already discontinued, and is in transition to be replaced by MS Teams.

MS Teams which was short lived will also be killed on the Windows 10 Mobile, despite being new. That one will no longer work past May 20th, Microsoft says.

    Some good news:
     - Microsoft added Phone and SMS APIs to Redstone 5 (RS5). This indicate further that Microsoft plans to release a new full Windows 10 phone device at the end of the year. Redstone 5 is the update that is coming up, not this one that is coming up in a few days, but the one that will follow it, with an expected release date in Oct/Nov.

    - Some hackers was able to get Windows 10 for ARM from leaks, and rootkit the Lumia 950/950XL. It can't do phone calls as of yet, as the APIs aren't there, like I said it will be added on RS5. So if you are into hacking, there may be hope that your phone can resurrect back, albeit running, probably, slowly.

As the title reads, what happened to the 'Your name on the wall of the new office' that was proposed before LTT moved from the house setup (I miss that kitchen) to the warehouse? (tbh I don't remember when that was. 2016 maybe?)

I know plans change, and it's been such a long time already I'm not actually bothered, just curious.

Well, I was just saying it WOULD work, that Celeron is just a cut down version of Conroe Core 2 Duo with just one core and a bit less cache.
I really wouldn't wanna be running Windows XP in 2018, unless you live in a 3rd world country then you have no choice. If you have the money, I would suggest getting a newer system. Even a second hand first gen i3 machine for 60 Dollars will run Windows 10 just fine.

Pure guess, but I think SSL certificate of that browser is too old and site sees it as security risk. So you need newer OS to browse forums on Chrome. If this is about specs not being enough for modern OS, Linux is one solution. Mint and Ubuntu should work fine.

Because if all apps would ping to another server whenever they wanted to, it would kill the battery of your device really quickly. iOS does this too, don't know about Android.

I think this is good. The support for these operating systems has ended already for a while, so this is an obvious step for Microsoft to take.
Offtopic: One thing that bothers me though is that they decided to end mainstream support for Windows 10 Mobile so early (december 2019), that's just sad .
