Could also be people who put 1500 dollar little weights on amps to make them sound better.. :I

Dual Channel is better, I was making a point about saving money..

It's not 80+ certified, that's for sure. You could probably get away with it for a while longer, but if it bothers you that much, you can buy a CX450M.

    Cheap PSU/SMPS

In what world is the CXM only slightly better than the VS?

Yh it’s literally like £4 to get 3000mhz so why not, also I read dual channel was better than single, is that not true?
  9. 3.9 is the all core turbo, at least it is on mine. How are you checking the clock speed? If you try another application like one of the versions of Cinebench, does that also stick to 3.5 or does that go up to 3.9? My Ryzen system isn't plugged in at the moment so I can't do a quick comparison.

    Ah, thanks for clarifying.

I mean that you can manually set the infinity fabric speed with Zen 2 CPUs in BIOS (which is literally why good RAM is so important).

I haven't seen anyone here recommend less than 3000mhz RAM for Ryzen systems so why start now? He's not trying to see if 2400mhz will work because he already owns it so why not spend what is it maybe $10 more and just get decent RAM.. He's trying to upgrade and if it's in the budget, I would maximize performance.. I don't think the cost is enough to justify going with 2400mhz.. It's just too cheap to do it right is all I'm saying.. I mean, you don't even need dual channel so save 5 bucks and get a 16gb stick instead of 2x8gb.. Every little thing you do for your system adds up..

    RTX 2060 fans

A good GPU fan nowadays is not that noisy. My EVGA 1060 SC does feature the fan stop function, but on idle, I can barely hear my GPU even at 20% fan speed and this setting can keep my GPU well under 40 Celsius while still being reasonably quiet. So there's really not much need to stop the fans unless you want absolute quietness. You fan profile may cause you to hear the ramp up/down noise of the fan during intense load. You should try to determine at which fan speed the noise start to become audible and what is the corresponding temperature, use that as a starting point. From there, tracing the curve til thermal throttling point linearly, or more aggressively in the end. Here's what my fan profile looks like: Keep in mind that Nvidia GPU Boost is temperature dependent. Ideally you should always try to keep the card at a lower temperature for better performance.

    Decent PC speakers?

For around 150 i would go for the Edifier r1700bt's, if you can get them shipped to israel.

Hardware doesn't become automatically obsolete when something newer launches... I also have a GTX 780 that's still kicking and is actually pretty good for 1080p gaming. Even old CPUs like the 3770K are still viable options.

I saw the Pro4-F available but not the Pro4. What are the differences? I couldnt find reviews on the Pro4-F.

Windows 10 1903 User Picture issue

So this morning my main PC downloaded the latest 1903 May update from Microsoft. All seems well touch wood so far but i just cannot for any reason get a picture to appear on the logon screen for my account. The original image didnt work and i have tried 2 more so far and they just will not appear, what im wondering is if anyone else has this issue and have read or has a work around as the logon screen now looks a little bare without the usual login image where i put my pin number. Thanks.

Also, what is likely the estimated efficiency of this OEM PSU (Seems pretty bad)? http://www.circotech.com/bestec-replacement-power-supply-model-fh-xd301myr-1-part-number-667893-001.html

uATX and mATX are the same thing, just different names. If you're really not sure, the best way to find out is to check where the standoffs are on the OEM board compared to an aftermarket board.

    Decent PC speakers?

Probably weak due to the small woofers/midranges and low X-max, also the woofers are having to deal with midrange which doesnt help with bass response.

-Threads merged- Please refrain from reposting content You don't need 3000+Mhz memory for Ryzen, I do just fine with even 2133.

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/MssmP6/sapphire-radeon-rx-vega-64-8gb-nitro-video-card-11275-03-40g Below budget option https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/dkprxr/sapphire-radeon-vii-16-gb-video-card-21291-01-40g More towards the top. The Radeon 7 wasnt bad per say, but it did not offer a performance we hadnt seen before and it wasnt super cheap. Right now the Rad 7 is cheaper while being roughly the sam3 performance as the 2080. Which is the same as a 1080ti Same goes for the Vega 64

So I just cleaned out 7 years worth of dust from my Dad's old i5-2400 HP PC. The motherboard included is an IPIS8-CU Proprietary board that uses the H61 chipset. It only supports up to 8GB (has 2-DIMM Slots) but my dad wants to upgrade to 16. So, we might have to try to do a whole refresh. Maybe get a newer board and CPU (maybe 4th gen Intel hardware), get 16GB of DDR3 that is faster than 1333mhz, add an SSD, or upgrade to a more reliable and efficient PSU. My only worry is that the OEM case doesn't support normal motherboards. The proprietary board is 9.6 inches x 9.,6 inches, which is the same for mATX but HP classifies it as "uATX". Is this like mATX or does it just have different mounting holes/process?
