  2. Update: Yep, it's an Intel 12th gen with UHD 770, not for gaming. Knowing that - which one would you recommend of the two? Or completely something else?
  3. Hi, I am starting to learn flutter & supabase to develop apps. I have an issue where my code doesn't run on IOS simulator, and the Android simulator is greyed out. I have tried reinstalling the flutter and dart plugins, but still getting the same error. Any help would be greatly appreciated
  4. Sold! I guess I'm too use to Noctua money I struggle to imagine something this cheap being that good. In a quick look at 6000/6400 kits, most were in the CL30-40 range, hence 30 being on the low end of that. The problem is the CL30 kits mentioned on this thread may not be immediately available in UK. I haven't looked for wider stock yet. If I can find a suitable kit quickly I could order everything for delivery tomorrow.

Funniest paradox - the times I have bought high…

Why are you describing me in a status update ?
  6. You do, I won’t. Maybe I’m not misanthropic enough.

    Custom Air Cooler

Are there maybe small flat radiators? The smallest I've seen was for 40mm fan, a radiator for a radial fan. I don't want to argue your understanding of "if the cooler is about", if you think that NH D15 is close to the size of 6x3x8cm then you do you.

I am aiming for 32 gb of ram from the random 20…

    ah... weeb
  9. Looking again at your post, that was my mistake. I mixed the order of the words on reading and thought you thought I had those CPUs. Apologies. I was talking about the cooler in that section, but given comments above I'll give it a try.
  10. Dude, these won't cut your ram usuage to the same level back in the 1990s if going off your very silly baseline benchmark used for comparison. You are arguing a lost cause. We are shipping out softwares that run on modern machine, not whatever potatoes that is like less than 1% of user base.
  11. From what I can see your case looks cool, but has bad airflow. Both the front main intake and the top exhaust is almost completely blocked off. So that would be the culprit. The GPU you have dumps basically all its heat into the case, and relies on the case airflow to exhaust it. I would try removing the front and top case panels and see how the temps behave
  12. TR PS120 is just crazy cheap for its performance, beats NH-D15 any day https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/thermalright-phantom-spirit-120-review GSkill Trident Z has the reputation of being the best kit around, and 6000CL30 is own AMD "sweet spot" recommendation It's not low, very few systems /kits allow CL28 stable and reaching CL26 is a feat, even fastest i9 hardly reach 7800CL36, and even then it's with GSkill RAM ! Didn't test it yet myself tho
  13. SorryBella

IBM is set to acquire HashiCorp: https://newsro…

    RHEL implies otherwise.
  14. Better than D15? I'll give it a try then. Both kits listed as well as previous don't seem to be immediately available in UK. I'll dig further later but I'm really not that fussed about max (or should that be min?) timings. Any particular reasons why this over the Asus? Longer term bios support is important to me. Asus have historically not been too bad in that area. I've heard but not had recent personal experience that MSI are doing minimal updates in that area. I see this gets me the X chipset over the B with the additional resources it offers. I hadn't thought to look for testing like this. But it isn't exactly much of a looker. In my own searching I've come across the Fractal Design North in white, mesh side, and that's my shortlist favourite. It just has to not such as bad as a solid front case and I'm happy. I think I did write in OP that performance is not my highest priority.
  15. I was referring to my own opinion on the 7800x3d and my own experience with the processors i use or used. My apologies. Disregard. You stated the 7800x3d has a reputation for not using too much power during gaming but you wondered if you should get something nicer? Did you mean a different cooler on that processor or a different processor entirely? See i thought you meant a different processor. My apologies if I was wrong
  16. You do understand, right? that updates contain importan bug fixes and fixes for the latest changes of sites they work with? They should be installed, not skipped.
  17. Do you mean 3 or 4 ? Uuuh no 6

Nah, you did not mention that the dimensions are required/max, rather you mentioned "if the cooler is about.." Metric system here last I heard. 6x3x8cm would be required max dimensions for a CPU or power bank? For CPU there should be possible retail products, for a power bank it's obviously another deal. But really, don't mind me, maybe I misread. Edit: yeah I actually did.
  19. i am tempted to bring my macbook on the airplane and fly the literal exact same plane and show it to the flight attendants.

So, there is a size limit on the CPU Cooler. If you knew how big 6x3x8cm are, then you wouldn't mention a 6-7 heatpipe dual tower, so I assume American 6x3x8cm closest too it would be a portable power bank. In freedom units this would be: 2,3622 x 1,1811 x 3,14961 in

I suppose that to cool 20W any block of aluminium with some perforation will do the trick indeed Yet basic aircoolers cost $10 and will be much better

    Custom Air Cooler

Definitely not. Conduction through the alu thickness isn't anywhere as good as what a heatpipe can do. But the heatpipe usually brings the heat to a much larger dissipator. I mean a stock Intel cooler is still just a block with no heatpipes and a fan on top, and they work to 65W or so. That said they use copper for the center part for the better conduction, and they're much bigger than what you say.
  23. I am usually very anal about fan noise and performance P12 has everything going for it. Not to mention you can get two P12s for the price of 1 NF-A12.
  24. yes, they're basically the best fan for $6 and under (if you use the 5 pack which is the best value) I've got a P12 and it's really quiet with decent enough CFM (not as good as noctua but it's 1/5 of the price with the 5 pack)
  25. I measured Visual Studio Code on Windows 10 a while ago and I wish it was an exaggeration. Glad there are alternatives. I told you there were people who are paid for that. At least you got my point now. Windows and macOS have very decent OS-level GUI APIs. Of course you could just shove a bunch of frameworks upon it and be done with your day, or you use what’s there and still have nice GUIs. Having efficient software is a reason. It’s good to know that you have enough money to buy a new computer every few years so you can run the latest software which can’t do much more than 90s text editors but will still eat magnitudes more resources just because the developers don’t care. Many people can’t.
  26. I'm confused because I think you're confused. The 7800X3D is decided on. I never mentioned different in this thread. In the part you quoted I was debating getting a nicer cooler for it than the one suggested. This just doesn't make sense to me and I wonder if you're confusing me for someone else. I never owned desktop Zen 3. 7700k is quad core not 8 like 5800X3D.
