  2. Except it has already been mentioned multiple times that in return for the mirror-like reflections you get more clarity and higher perceived contrast and saturation. It's quite easy to get used to the reflections, especially when using them indoors. There is a reason why all the top-tier TVs and phones use glossy glass screens already. It's certainly not because they're cheaper than a matte plastic finish.
  3. So discord is built using an old version of electronic which support screen sharing but not audio on Linux. If you use discord through the web browser audio should work. Last I checked if Discord would update their electron version up to the next release from where they're at. Then screen audio would work.
  4. I've actually heard that the 7900X3D can be worse than the 7900X, because apparently the 7900X3D has less cores that can actually access the large L3 Cache, but i don't really know..
  5. Then you're looking at a software problem. You probably messed something up in the color settings, like I mentioned in my previous post.
  6. I was never a fan of AutoHDR. It just boosts the brightness, not the dynamic range, and so I found it to be just too bright in most situations. For example, it can't tell the difference between an explosion, a white HUD, and a white shirt, so the HUD or shirt can be as bright as an explosion, even though it's obviously not supposed to be. This "fake glow" is too distracting imo and Nvidia's AI HDR thing has the same problem. That's why I just don't use these automatic HDR features and play SDR games in SDR and HDR games in HDR.
  7. Are we doing all NFS subprojects? It doesn't look like there's anything mandated but any strategic advantage with concentrating on any of them?
  8. Yes. Whoever said the 7900X sucks for gaming doesn't know what they're talking about, it's consistently a very good chip. The 7800X3D is just usually a better CPU for games, and since most people on here are primarily gamers, it's the primary recommendation, especially since it's usually a little cheaper. If you need mutli core performance first and foremost, the 7900X is likely the way to go. The 7900X3D might be worth considering, as it should get you closer to the gaming performance of the 7800X3D without losing too much multi core performance and it has been on some good sales lately, though given the scheduling issues it can run into I'd still likely just go 7900X so you don't have to think about it.
  9. Its fine. You can do all of what you listed above with a 7800x3D just fine as well, and get better gaming performance. Final rendering will be slower, but overall depending on the amount of content you need to edit it wont matter much. 7900x isnt bad, its just the middle of the pack choice, and its price is what dictates whether or not its a good choice.
  10. Hey everyone! I've been pretty much certain about picking the R9 7900X for my future PC Build. (PC will be used for video editing, livestreaming while gaming, and gaming in general) But many people have said, that the 7900X really sucks for gaming. I've gone for it, cause people have recommended it for above said workload (more cores), but now I don't know what to believe anymore. Can I get solid gaming performance with a 7900X? (will first be paired with my old 3060 Ti, and after with a 4070 Ti SUPER) Or what would be a better CPU option for video editing, streaming and gaming in combination? Feel free to suggest multiple CPUs, as I want to compare. Thanks for the help.
  11. Maybe, maybe not. Maybe it's a dud Maybe there's something on your PC that interferes making it slow to be detected Maybe there's some kind of problem with your OS installation that makes it detect slow Maybe the drive itself is problematic I have no idea what or which As far as I can remember, never had one of my enclosures being detected that slow, not even my HDD dock with 1x4TB & 1x2TB mechanical drives in it. edit : I remember the time when I had "portable" drive having detection problem was when I tried to salvage datas from a failing mechanical drive, connected to USB through a ridiculously cheap SATA to USB adapter. A long long long time ago. IIRC I saw a post in microsoft forum about the same problem which the OP stated it was due to his Armoury Crate or somethin'. I'd say test it on other PC and see if it behaves differently, at least to filter possible causes.
  12. Banned because may you rest in peace, hated biology
  13. Kia of computers eh. Any short can be damaging, try not doing that.
  14. Hello everyone, I have one of those magnetic USB-A cables attached to my PC, I use it to charge my keyboard and my headphones. Today I realized by accident that shorting certain pins can turn on my computer. Can this break my PC ? My mobo is a B450 I AORUS PRO WIFI.
  15. Oh I probably won't keep F8 permanently. I'm just morbidly curious to confirm the 'broken eclk' theory, and then I'll probably just switch back to F24c, leave the CPU settings completely alone and wait for a new update...
  16. Factory voltage frequency table overestimates how much voltage it needs in order for shitty binned GPUs to work on same VF table. Stock VF tables are usually always power limited; so when you reduce voltage you give your GPU more headroom to clock higher. My 3070 in its stock VF table only lets me hit 1950 or so mhz meanwhile I can push that all the way up to 2150mhz myself.
  17. I have a Zotac 3070 Twin Edge and plan to undervolt it to get a lower power draw. I have read some guides and also found a specific guide on Reddit to undervolt the 3070. However, I would like to know more as I have not completely grasp the meaning of all the settings in MSI Afterburner that is used. I want to know how each settings will affect the others and also what is the effect to the performance oh and how does overclocking while undervolting works at the same time?? An additional ELI5 would also be appreciated. Small beginner's undervolting guide for rtx 3070 FE : r/nvidia (reddit.com), also this is the link to the post that I found, is this guide good enough for me to follow as a baseline?
  18. Senzelian

They're actually putting humans on starliner??…

The Space Shuttle was also "safe".
  19. One thing I probably should've mentioned is that going to an older BIOS might cause issues with your memory kit. 24/48GB sticks require some special training parameters to work correctly (the Micron based ones especially), and the newer BIOSes likely have more optimizations for those higher density kits. F8 should be after the requirements were implemented and should hopefully be OK, but just keep it in mind in case you start getting random BSODs.
  20. Banned because I wish I had learned for the biology exam today.
  21. For my noname cheap chinese 2.5 enclosure, I would actually need a stopwatch to measure exactly how long it takes until the notification sound is heard in Windows after plugging it to USB Around 1 second if it's until the pop-up telling me to unlock the bitlocker on it shows up.
  22. Banned because I still wish I was a wizard
  23. Banned because I'm not exactly sure what a spell meaning "My misery" is supposed to do.
  24. Yeah, there is a discount right now, so the Q350 is cheaper then the Q150. Normally it goes for $530
