Skyrim lagging in caves?

Tasuma

Hey all! Just bought skyrim, I know I'm late to the party sue me! Anyways I noticed in caves my game feels laggy. My fps overlay is saying 60 but sure as hell doesn't feel like it. Q_Q Any ideas? I've even turned off filters and such! :(

Some caves are bad others aren't.  [speculation based on user experience]Depends on if they keep the outside loaded or not.  Orc longhouses are a similar story where performance is pretty horrific for such a small enclosed space.  But loading screen/transition time between spaces is noticeably shorter than caves/houses that do unload the previous environment.[/moonies BS]

Welcome to Skyrim.  There are plenty of mods that can improve well known performance issues, along with all sorts of bugs and glitches not addressed by Bethesda.

Go to Nexus Mods, and pretty much before you do anything else install Mod Organizer.  Then do a search here about modding Skyrim.
