I don't see why your system wouldn't be getting 60 fps? GTA V is probably the most demanding game you have and even that should run just on lower settings.

Hello, I'm having some issues with my current build after a recent GPU upgrade. I went from A GTX 460 to A Radeon HD 7950 that A friend gave me. I am not sure if the card isn't Very good or maybe some other older parts are holding it back I will list them below.

Motherboard- asrock am3 phenom 2 m3a770de

Cpu-AMD Athlon II x4 645 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.1GHz

Gpu- AMD Sapphire Radeon 7950 Dual-X

RAM- 2, 4 GB Ripjaw Memory sticks

SSD- Samsung Evo 256GB

HD- 500GB Western Digital

PSU- Corsair CX500 500watt

Monitor- Acer P250h 1600x900 Res.

Case- CoolerMaster Elite 430

The CPU, MOBO, HD And PSU are all 6+ Years old

Games I play often are-

GTA:V

Rocket League

H1Z1

Team Fortress 2

Counter-Strike:Global Offensive

ARK: Survival Evolved.

If there are any DIRE Upgrades needed for my build that you can suggest to run the more intensive games at like A 60fps minimum Let me know what could Drastically help. Im running on A $200-300 Budget.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at this.

@RoyalRoyal Download DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and make sure you have no NVIDIA drivers downloaded, also make sure you have the AMD drivers downloaded as well.

Sorry, uhh new with this website. I downloaded the DDU and uninstalled my old NVIDIA Drivers Like you said, And also checked to see if there were new drivers for AMD and we were up to date on that. Any ideas on if i would need an upgrade for the 60fps dream?

I would say the sound issues would be caused by the onboard audio being old and the caps probably not being strong enough to support the massive amounts of sound channels games use as compared to when they board was made.

As for the low fps, that card and cpu should be able to handle GTA 5 on medium-low settings 60 fps easily. Just make sure your refresh rate is set correctly as my friend had an issue where it kept resetting his rate back to 24hz instead of 60hz on occasion. That caused insane fps drops and near unplayability.
