No. The Z77 chipset doesn't even support NVME.

Z97, X99, and Z170 only.

Hello,

So i was thinking of getting a 256gb samsung 950 pro ssd this black friday, because i don't have an ssd in my rig.

My motherboard is an ecs z77h2 a2x deluxe v2.0.

It doesn't have an m.2 slot , so i'll have to use an m.2 to pcie 4x adapter.

Then i read that your motherboard needed to specifically support nvme in order to use nvme drives .

My question is : can i use a 950 pro in my rig ?

I'd really like the extra speed over sata.

I know i could get a 512gb ssd using sata for the same price , but i already have 3tb of storage space on my hard drive.

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

SNIP

AFAIK your board does not support it

Honestly a standard SSD is all you need, NVME is great and all but for most things you probably wouldnt notice, and an SSD is already blazing fast
