I'm currently in the process of gathering parts for my PC and I’m thinking of going with a Intel core i5 6500 only problem is I loathe the stock cooler so will my Noctua NH-U12S still be able to be mounted to it? mobo for those who care is a Asus B150M-A D3

Yes the Noctua coolers come with a standard Intel mounting kit with separate parts for X99 sockets and 115x (as well as an AMD one, but if you're using that on a new CPU you dun goofed).

Noctua's customer service is kick ass and if you need a different one, contact them and they'll send you the relevant parts for free. They've done that for me a couple of times with fan mounts, took three days to get to me.

LGA1151 uses the exact same mounting holes as LGA1150, so yes it will be compatible with your new Skylake CPU and motherboard.
