Parts Advice

Hi all,

I need some advice on the parts that I picked.

Since Fallout 4 is around the corner, and my current PC can't handle it, I'm looking to upgrade it. I'm on a bit of a budget so I can live with reusing some of my equipment. For example, I want to reuse my case, mouse, keyboard, monitor, and power supply (if it has the proper connections and enough power.).

The power supply is a Corsair CX600 600 Watt 80+Bronze (Link)

You guys think this will work ok?

Thanks,

Hydra

You don't need a Z97 motherboard.

So my build is okay with the exception of the PSU and motherboard? What is your suggestion for those? How about Killervolt's suggestion?

Yes, it really isn't that bad of a PSU..

I have a friend running the the CX750, and there isn't a lot wrong with that series.

Why should he replace it?

What PSU would you suggest?

How about the rest of my part list, do you think it's good? Thatonerussian says to replace the mobo since the CPU is locked. How about Killervolt's suggestion, do you think it's good?

CX power supplies aren't bad PSU's at all, its just that they're meant for low-end systems, mainly office work.

Anything gaming-wise, the PSU cannot handle, and will eventually overheat and catch fire and explode.

I'm partial to Nvidia cards. Are there any Nvidia cards with similar price and performance as the card you suggested?

I think I am getting that exact same PSU for my $2000 Build. So it would be good. If I am not mistaken, it will also be compatible with cable-mods sleeved set, if you plan to buy a set.

Nah, I'm not going that crazy. I'm just updating parts for Fallout 4 and my current computer is dying.

Looks like I will. With the build Killervolt suggested, I need approx. 610W. 750W seems like a good buffer.

Or would a 650W work fine?. In that case, should this suffice? EVGA 120-G1-0650-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 650 W

If you want my honest opinion, the CX power supply is fine. Just look at the reviews. The 650W would work, the 750 would be more future proof of you want to add more things to your pc.
