Computer crash when fullscreen applications crash

noisebomb44

When i play games in fullscreen, and the game crashes, then my computer screen turns black, and there is no way out of it except pulling the plug out

I have the latest video drivers, windows drivers, win 10, motherboard BIOS, etc

My computer never crashes when windowed applications/games crash

When i contacted microsoft support, they was like "This is a very complicated problem, please let us remote control your computer" but i said no, because indian tech support will never get to touch my computer, besides i had 20 pages of porn and credit card information open.

Has anyone else had this problem, or know how to solve it?

Couldn't be viruses could it? Malwarebytes could help maybe?

LOL i like you. your funny. Have you seriously tried a antimalware program?

So does this happen to you in multiple games or just one game in particular? Are there any Event Logs of the crash that could help?

I have io bit maleware fighter and bitdefender internet security

Although i have had this problem since windows 7, where sometimes, if i even booted games up they would crash the computer, although now that i have updated to windows 10, it only happens sometimes, although i still try to run all my games in borderless window.

And, yes, it happens with all games, even from the 90s

im thinking that i might have to do a clean wipe of my system, but it would take so long that it probably wouldnt be worth it

i was just about to ask if you did an upgrade or a clean install. I had issues with windows 10 on a upgrade. when i clean installed it (which is a pain for those who upgraded for reasons ill get into only if you want me to) all the issues went away and now my pc runs great!

Seeing that you had this issue formerly with Win7 before upgrading i would assume that is a good place to start. Plus it never hurt to clean install!

If im going to do it, should i just wipe my system disk, and let the HDD with my steam library live?

If so will i be able to just pick up where i left off in my steam games?

Because i dont really have anything of value on my system 120 GB SSD disk

This will work. Be careful of games like GTA V where it stores your profile in your Documents. I assume you have your Docs on your secondary HDD. You shouldnt have issues. Reinstall steam and other games and it should be good. May want to make a backup of important game data JUST to be sure. Backing up never hurt nothing ;)

I have all of my docs on google drive, so that is already done, although i will have to backup the "my documents" folder if im going to do it
