Has anyone on the forums here "Won" at Prime95?

I thought this was the most appropriate place to put this topic.

 

So, as many of you know, prime95 was a common stress test a while back, todays CPUs cannot safely handle the load the program puts on them.

 

But did you know that the original purpose was to calculate Mersenne primes for reseach? They actually offer quite a massive reward for finding another one.

id imagine not, most people use it for stress testing so dont create a GIMPS account.

Considering there's like 60~ Mersenne prime numbers total, probably not. :P

You know what's easier than buying and building a brand new PC? Petty larceny!
If you're worried about getting caught, here's a trick: Only steal one part at a time. Plenty of people will call the cops because somebody stole their computer -- nobody calls the cops because they're "pretty sure the dirty-bathrobe guy from next door jacked my heat sink."
