500gb ssd or fast HDD

ishdafish_

Hi I have a laptop (Lenovo Z500)

I was wondering what would be the best option as a Storage replacement. I currently have a slow 5400rpm hdd. I just want a faster laptop. I dont want to spend a lot of money on it around £100. I would prefer a good ssd but if u cant find me any good deals

Thanks,

Definitely SSD, miles faster, plus its more durable in a laptop, unless you need lots of storage or want to save money, then go with a HDD.

Main PC: i5 4590 @ 3.5 GHz ♦ RX 480 Armor OC ♦ 16 GB DDR3 ♦ GA-Z97-HD3 ♦ 120 GB 840 EVO ♦ 120 GB Intel 520 ♦ W10 Home

Scrapyard PC: Xeon X5460 @ 3.8 GHz ♦ HD 7870 ♦ 8 GB DDR2 ♦ GA-P35-DS3L ♦ 80 GB Intel 320 ♦ 160 GB WD Caviar SE ♦ W10 Home

Hey there ishdafish_,

I could suggest checking out WD Black2 Dual drive. It combines a 120GB SSD for your OS and more demanding applications and a 1TB HDD as a massive storage for everything else, all in the same form factor. Unlike Hybrid drives, the Dual drive has two separate portions and you are free to choose what goes where and distribute your applications by priority instead of relying on an algorithm todecide. If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
