4k Gaming Build $1200 AUD

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/SoloChicolo/saved/8cYKHx

Updated Build:

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/SoloChicolo/saved/cnHTwP

Is this build able to handle 4k with medium settings at 60fps on GTAV and MKX? I will also be playing TF2 and MC and maybe some others however TF2 and MC are relatively easy to run.

Note: this isn't my max budget, I could add an extra $50 to the price, probably for the case or a aftermarket CPU cooler however I would prefer to stay at this price point.

My main concern is the GPU getting bottlenecked by the CPU. Will this be a problem?

Maybe, Maybe not that CPU will most likely slow down that graphics card down.

The r9 390 would be good for the 4k settings you are aiming for, so the card is good but that CPU if you could try to get at least a i5 4460 if you can.

No, it's not enough. Even with a better CPU, the GPU isn't capable of 4K GTA V with those settings.

Take the FX-8320 if going for AMD, it's like literally a 18AU $ more.

Here's an improved version, doesn't go too much beyond the budget, get a Samsung 850 Evo 120GB SSD in the near future to add to it though.

Generally speaking this isn't the best build for 4k, you'd need to spend more to get quality experience in that resolution. Perhaps for 1440p it could be enough.

I would take an i5-4440 w h81 mobo, cheap case and a 600w psu w/ 390. best you can do at that price for 4k. However if you go with 1440p, that would get you much more fps

Longboarders/ skaters message me!

minecraft will make that cpu cry in a corner.

for anything related to minecraft i'm gonna recommend intel.

you NEED that single core performance.

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/SoloChicolo/saved/cnHTwP i5-4690k w/ a 390 (I prefer the 390, slightly better than the 970 but has 4.5gb more VRAM for $1 less)

Can you stop spreading misinformation? It hasn't got 4.5GB more VRAM, it has got 4GB more. The 970 has got a full 4GB just the last 500MB of it being slower.

Sorry, I thought it was only 3.5GB, the 390 still has double the memory which is better for 4k. (Why would they make the last .5 a gig slower? Whatever their plan was, it backfired)

That wasn't their plan, it was (supposedly) miscommunication between the tech and marketing department.
