OS: Win10
Graphic: GTX 960
CPU: I5 4690k @3.5

When I go to preview (or record) all layers portray normally except for monitor capture. It just shows a black screen for it, but shows the mouse moving over it normally. Anyone know of a fix for this? Google search showed no answers...

alt tab to what you're trying to record and then go back.

I don't have a fix for you, but I can tell you I have the same issue with VLC (works fine with Monitor selected tho).

I'm doing monitor capture with windowed game (runs smoother from what I've seen) so I shouldn't have to alt-tab...

I don't have a fix for you, but I can tell you I have the same issue with VLC (works fine with Monitor selected tho).

Running it on windowed mode with screen capture (not window or game)

Trying this... Apparently the driver didn't install the last time I updated it O.o

Well what I googled was "OBS Black screen win10", because I thought it was the OS causing it, because it worked the first day I had win10 without driver updates ._.
