Uninstall Windows Home Premium and replace with Ultimate

The reasn for doing this is because my cousin had a windows 7 ultimate edition product key and I want to get an ultimate edition so I could upgrade to windows 10 professional. Is there a way to do this and keep all my files, programs, and settings?

go to "get a new version of windows" in control panel, and enter the ultimate key. see what happens. otherwise fresh install it.

Is there any other way to upgrade windows with an OEM key?

oem key needs the original install wiped before it will work on a new pc.

Also I used the product key to update it while the original pc was still activated, if I deactivate now will there be a problem?
