What is the best $250 graphics card

Hi. This is the first time I'm building a PC and I need help choosing the graphics card. I will be playing games like CS:GO, GTA V (with mods), and Call of Duty (mainly BO1/2 and WaW). I'm on a budget too, so I need something in the $200-250 range. Also which CPU would be best for gaming: Intel Core i5-45990, i5-4690k, or AMD FX-8320. Thanks.

gtx 970

It's over $300. A little too much.

280x. It's faster than 380 and 960.

Or if you get a good deal on a 290 that would be the best choice

R9 290, no question about it. You get most of the performance of a GTX 970 and this has a lifetime warranty.

Just don't cheap out on the power supply, get a good quality 620W unit or better. XFX makes very good power supplies for the money.

As for CPU, the i5-4690k is by far the most powerful of the three if you're willing to pay for a Z97 board and an aftermarket cooler. The i5-4590 is the best bang for your buck CPU out there for gaming, since you can buy a cheaper H97 board and run it on the stock cooler. The FX-8350 is shit for the price from a gamer's perspective, since an i3 often beats it at stock clocks and since overclocking it requires a nice board and aftermarket heatsink.

Best to worst

R9 290 4GB

R9 280X 3GB

R9 380 4GB

GTX 960 4GB

R9 280 3GB

R9 380 2GB

GTX 960 2GB

R7 370 4GB

R7 370 2GB

Get the best one that's within budget.

As for CPU, the 4690K is of course the best out of the 3, but you also don't need the 4690K for a pleasant gaming experience. If you want to overclock and want the best gaming experience, then the 4690K is the way to go... however getting an i5-4460 or 4590 with an H97 motherboard will also give a very good gaming experience. The i5-4460 is still extremely good for gaming.

Was going to say this.  380 is an r9 285, slightly slower than a 280x.
