looking for gaming headphones

MysticDragon

so im looking for a pair of good 300-400 (euros) gaming headphone (not headsets)

heres what im looking for

-open headphones (dont even bother with closed ones)

-good bluetooth would be nice but bluetooth isnt necessary

-noise cancelation would be nice but isnt needed once again

-atleast a sound range of 20-20k but preferably higher then that

-balanced sounds (not like beats or some shit)

-comfertable, ill prob wear them like 6-12 hours a day

and im not sure if i forgot anything else important but if i did please say so in teh comments down below, and i rather have people on this comment who actaully have knowledge about headphones rather then just suggesting what theyre wearing right now. ((sorry for my bad english))

Tbh, there aren't that many options at that price, but check out:

Sennheiser HD 650

AKG Q 701

Beyerdynamic T 90

All of the above require an amp or DAC to sound good and get the proper loudness.

Laptop: Intel Core i5-4200H, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, GeForce 840M

Desktop: Intel Core i3-6100, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, GeForce GTX 750 Ti

the majority of good headphones of that calibre need Amp/Dacs,

Also.. you want open headphones but noise cancelling? thats impossible, noise cancelling headphones are closed by nature,

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD518 and I love them, maybe if you want a more open headphone you could get the HD558.

With that price range you can get amazing headphones man.  If you want to get something cheaper than your price range I would go with the Sennheiser HD 598.  If you want to go in your price range I would say get something like HD 600 or 650.

Open headphones are pretty shitty by nature just saying.

Just look on an audiophile forum, what works for high quality insane music works for gaming.

Also by definition the high quality headphones REQUIRE dac/amp because their high resistance is most of what gives them the high quality in the first place. (Maybe you could find ones that come with inline dac/amp but that's about it.)

If you are going to spend that much on a headphone set, not being willing to get a dac is pretty crazy.

If you prefer wireless, you could check out Sennheiser's RS-line. I personally use the RS-180 and I love the thing. With your budget you could go with the newer RS-185.

Other than that, suggestions above are mostly fine as well. It's you buying headphones, so at some point you'll have to choose.

I think your best bet would be the Audio Technica ADG1 headphones. They got a nice ref flat sound. A really good mic and it comes with a USB dac and 2 cords that you could plug into a amp/dac and your mic cord to the pc. It is a very neutral sounding(balanced) headphone. Very very open and the comfort is top notch. I can go on a 8 hour marathon of gaming and music listening and I would forget that they were on my head. I know linus did a review on the AG1 or AD1 forget what it was called but it was the black and gold one and he recommended using a elastic band mod, but I wouldn't say you would need it. However, bluetooth is a nono for sound quality, and noise cancellation is like impossible if you want an open pair of headphones. Maybe one con about these headphones is that the cord isn't  detachable and it isn't exactly the longest unless you use the splitter into a mic and audio jack which disables your use with the usb dac  they provide.

If you want a pair of headphones that are open with more of a bassier sound stage, the Dt 990 Premiums are an excellent choice. I would say these are Beyers fun sounding headphones. I also have this one in the 600ohm version which is paired up with an O2 amp/odac unit from mayflower. You would be surprised that these are an open pair of headphones. However, you would need to buy a Mic for it. They also have it in a 32ohm version

You could also try the Audio Technica ad900x.

i do not like having a microphone as i clearly stated twice, i already own a blue yeti thus a mic is just gonna get in the way and fuck up my settings
