iPod Third gen HDD replace

I've seen people replace the Drives on the Third gen iPod with a SSD but is it possible to replace it with a flash drive? some sort of adapter or something? Thanks

Flash drive, as in USB? No, but you can install a compact flash drive or SD card(with compact flash adapter) using an adapter that probably can be found on eBay.
