Difference(s) between Memory Data Register and Memory Buffer Register?

Alright, so I am trying to educate myself more about the CPU architecture and how it all works but one thing I am really confused about is that what is the difference between Memory DATA Register and Memory BUFFER Register? I've searched online and some websites claim that the two are the same thing while some others state the opposite. Could someone please explain???

I believe they're referring to the same thing. It's to hold the data being moved between the CPU/Memory.
