Opinion on the best curved Ultra wide monitor?

Altecice

Hey peeps!

Im not in the loop with monitors recently but I was toying with the idea of getting rid of my Eyefinity (x3 24") screens in place of one curved 34" 3840x1440p monitor.

Whats the market like out there for curved monitors?

As far as I am aware this seems to be the best option out there?

Any opinions are helpful at this stage :)

3440x1440*

This.

Not nearly as sexy though.

I have the flat version of the LG one in front of me. I have that exact Dell one in front of me too.

I'd take the Dell one over the one OP lists myself. It's 100 pounds cheaper too. I personally love the thing.

You can't exactly go wrong, but a bad monitor stand just sucks. The LG one I have here doesn't have that stand, but if it's anything like it, it's a terrible stand.

Trust me, wobbly stands that have no height adjusment are not sexy.

I get the idea that perhaps the dell is more 'sexy' but im really only interested in picture quality.

Dell has the same picture quality. They are both calibrated monitors http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u3415w.htm

My LG has a wobbly stand and no height adjustment, and i think it's a pretty sexy monitor... Yeah it's not as functional or practical, but it doesn't lessen the aesthetics of it.

This.

I can't see a difference between my flat LG & my curved Dell. They both came with the reports for their calibration and I don't see any noticeable differences.

The only thing I really notice is the difference between a flat & curved ultrawide and it is noticeable (I definitely prefer curved). But that's unrelated to this.

Ahhh... I had my suspicions that they may be using the same panel. Thanks for the info!

I know my LG flat ultrawide isn't the same monitor, but I figured I'd include it for comparison's sake.

Couple of things:

He noted he wanted a 3440x1440p one specifically in his post.

You are right considering the sync capabilities though. The Dell U3415W doesn't have either kind of Sync, and neither does the LG one's listed.
