Noise Reduction Accessories

Hi Guys,

I have the AeroCool X-Strike GT case, with cooler master sickleflow 120mm fans in all slots, except the front, which has 2x 120mm Aero Cool Red LED Fans.

The fans make a lot of noise, and what I'm almost sure of, is that it is due to vibration.

The fan mounting is done directly with a long metal screw (uncommon?), into a plastic thread on the case itself. In the front of the case, where the 2 aero cool 120mm fans are installed, the plastic case thread for the fan screws are kind of destroyed (factory defect or just bad quality case) and 1 or 2 screws on each fan doesn't actually reach the thread or tighten. So each fan only has about 2-3 screws tightening it.

I'm looking to add anti-vibration equipment to it, but don't know how exactly.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that I'm in Denmark, so whatever you suggest, I'd have to relocate on Danish websites and buy from here.

There are plenty other places to look as well.

There are videos you can see that covers this also made by Linus.

*Edit* BeQuiet is a good place to buy some fans that have silencing built in, or Noctua.

Hope that helps.

Looks very nice, however it looks like this case has the fans mounted directly into the case.

So you have a fan, and you drive a long screw through it, and into some threading mate in the case, in a hole. It doesn't go through and through. :o

So I don't think I can apply common rubber solution here. :(
