PC won't boot.

Hello,

So I managed to fix my computer recently by removing a dead RAM. Half way through using it after repair, my computer turned into a black screen and I was forced to reboot. So I did and my PC will just boot into UEFI BIOS. At the Boot Priority section, it only shows the CD Drive and my plugged in external HDD It's not showing the internal HDD that I have Windows installed on. Anyone have any idea what to do or what conclusions I can draw ? Is it a dead hard drive ?

Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for you kind attention and time.

So you have had a dead ram stick and now a possibly dead HDD I wonder if the mobo could be the problem.

What are your specs?

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Sata power ok?

Yes, I've unplugged it and plugged it back. There's no avail.

Hey thprince,

As @techguru suggested, there are a number of possibilities. I would take the drive out and connect it to an already working system and run a diagnostic tool to check the drive's health. I would recommend WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool. Here's a link: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=CSaoao

You can also try another SATA cable and another SATA port to rule them out.

Also try other power cables that come from the PSU.

If the drive is functioning correctly on another system, the problem might be coming from the motherboard. Try resetting the CMOS by removing the battery.
