randy hutajulu

Everytime i download the nvidia driver they always say that i have an mfaa updates. But i haven,t find any game that has MFAA option yet.

Is MFAA not available on 700 series or there no game that has this option just yet?

MFAA is Maxwell architecture cards only, so unless you have a GTX 745, 750, or 750 TI, you can't run it.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxwell_%28microarchitecture%29#First_generation_Maxwell_.28GM10x.29

First generation Maxwell GM107/GM108 were released as GeForce GTX 745, GTX 750/750 Ti

If your card supports it, you enable MFAA not in game but via NCP.

So my GTX 780 can't use MFAA?

No, because GTX 780 is Kepler architecture.

I thought it is second gen maxwell only.

MFAA is essentially MSAA except it only samples some of the nearby pixels rather than all of them, so the quality is the same as MSAA but takes half the work.

Actually, you're right. All of Nvidia's marketing refers  to just "Maxwell" though.

Yeah, for example on the 970 the actual graphical horsepower per core is not a large improvement over first gen maxwell, most of the extra power comes from delta compression and better AA like MFAA. 980 TI will completely devastate based on what the current Maxwell is doing.

Nice, but easy to live without. It's just AA, and there are a lot of other methods that work very well, too. Especially with a fairly fast card like a 780.

To be honest. As far as my own experience, MSAA delivers me the best output so far.

And if there's an option that can give me the same result as MSAA but lighter, that will be perfect.

Now, i think we need to wait this 980Ti launched

How many games are supported by mfaa?

There was recently an update from nvidia that made most dx11 and dx10 game support it.

If it has msaa in game then it will most probably support mfaa..either way I just force it all through nvidia cp
